Well we don't know if they had a good draft yet. We will find out in a few weeks.

If the team goes 3-14, then it's pretty unlikely that the draft was nearly as good as some fans think.
Given the limitations of Geno Smith and Drew Lock, every rookie we drafted could have a great year and we could still go 3-14.

I can't stand watching Geno Smith and I can't imagine that Drew Lock is much better.

I expect very little from Geno or Drew but it's not like they are that much worse than 10-15 other QBs in the league.

We have the Falcons, Lions, Giants, Saints, and Jets on our schedule.

If the Hawks get a top 5 pick they will draft a QB that people have down as a Late first or 2nd round pick. Mark my words.

Not sure who you are referring to when you say Chicken Little.

Seems like just about all of us see this team as a losing record team next year. I tend to see us as a 7 win team. Others think we might be a 3 or 4 win team. That's certainly possible.

For me, I see no reason to get excited about being a bad team just because we will have some higher draft picks. Maybe we will get lucky and draft a stud QB again. I certainly hope so. But the odds are not great. I remember the 90s Seahawks teams. Rick Mirer, Kelly Stouffer, Stan Gelbauch, Dan McGwire, John Friesz.

And I think there is more than a reasonable chance that the Seahawks are going to be a poor team and the Broncos will be a very good team. And if that happens, things are going to get ugly.

Not sure how Broncos do, but Seahawks are going to have a tough season with the QBs they have. That’s just part of the process and next season will be more enjoyable. Everyone should understand that, but no avoiding the second guessing and complaining.

Everyone just needs to remember that the "Suck for Luck" strategy helped a team go to 2 Super Bowls, winning one. The Broncos made out pretty good that time.

I hope for your sake that you're correct on Lance being an upgrade.

Dude has all the talent in the world, but in the games I watched him he looked atrocious as a passer. Although for what it's worth, I thought Josh Allen would be a bust and he has a very similar skill set and background as Lance. I just feel like you guys might be better off rolling with Jimmy G, not because he's a great QB, but you guys have such a loaded roster that I think you guys can go deep in the playoffs with just a game manager. If Lance plays like he did last year I think you guys might be in trouble. If he does take the next step and is an upgrade over Jimmy G, you guys will be real dangerous.

I will say I'm a big fan of how the 49ers run their offense which I think is a testament to the coaching ya'll have. If Lance does take the next step, you guys will probably be one of the most exciting teams to watch this year.

From the various training camp reports I've read and the little action I saw against Green Bay he's at least more comfortable in the offense and his mechanics are better. He's still not where you want him to be mechanically but it's something that was always going to need time and I don't think he'll get to that point till next year or the year after.

The 9ers are in a similar spot as Seattle was when they drafted RW in that they can just lean on the running game and playing great defense to win games and just play to Lance's strengths while he grows.

You and I see things very differently. You think that the team is better off moving on from Wilson. I think that the Seahawks made an epic blunder in keep PC and moving on from a 33 year old Hall of Fame level QB. We'll find out who was right about that soon enough.

I'm done complaining about what happened. What's done is done. But I am not going to pretend that the problem with the Seahawks was Russell Wilson. That's just blind rationalizing.

Well I definitely see Lock as our starting QB all Geno is is a guy that we would send out there if we need to and not turn the ball over but he isnt lighting up the scoreboard. I really don't think Lock will be much better he definitely has a better arm. I still think this team can win 7 games and won't be the push over everyone assumes they will be. At the end of the day this is a Pete Carroll coached football team going all the way back to 1994 as a rookie head coach with the Jets at any level with him as a head coach from college to pro the worst he has done is 6-10

I agree. I think Lock is probably not much better than Geno but he at least gives us HOPE of being better. And while I do think it is time for Pete to move on, he's still a very good coach when it comes to winning games. He'll keep the team focused enough to get us 7 or 8 wins.

this is part of the deal, nobody is getting fired no matter how bad the team is.

Lots and lots of coaches and GMs have been promised job security during a tank in all sorts of sports. What has been proven is those assurances mean nothing. Maybe Jodi sticks with them because she isn't really an owner that is invested in the club like most owners. But a lot of the people that are saying "I'm ok with tanking" now will be singing a different tune if this team is 1-10 in the middle of the season. Because that sort of football is just ugly to watch and fans start to lose confidence in the leadership.

I've seen this so many times here in New York. It is literally how the Jets have existed for most of the last 50 years.

they traded wilson to keep pete, but they are going to fire him after one year knowing that the team is going to be awful? I dont think so

I'm certain that they have no plans to get rid of Pete or John.

What I said was that if the team truly sucks and is a 1-4 win team then there will be a ton of pressure on Jodi to make a change.

Furthermore, I don't believe for one second that Pete thinks this is a 1-4 win team. In fact, I bet he thinks this is a playoff contending team. I think it is entirely possible that he promised Jodi that the Hawks would be a competitive team this year even without Russ. Obviously that is all speculation but I think it is grounded is reasonable suppositions.

At the rate Russell Wilson was going with this franchise he probably would have expected a monument of him in front of the stadium, a Let Russ Cook grill and bar at the stadium, replace the 12th man flag with "with Russ we STAND" flag, and a equal partnership of the hawks when he retires.

I think the franchise was getting sick and tired of him. I am curious what the Broncos are going to do when he is asking for $50 million per season to be the highest paid QB in the league. For sure it will be fully guaranteed.
