None of know what Stid is or isn't. He was a nice college prospect. Shows nice arm strength and accuracy during little playing time. Can scramble. If he is indeed working out with JE11 that says a lot. He was reportedly in Bill's dog house for not competing in camp last year and we all know what happens when you're there. You don't play. This could be a different year for him?

He spent a year behind Brady and Hoyer learning the system. Then Brady leaves. All BB says from January through June is that Stidham is the QB. Then he kicks the kid to the curb and signs Cam. Bad attitude? I'd have said "Fuck you Bill" too. Cam sucks from the get go and Hoyer and Stidham get stuck playing the Chiefs in KC because Cam was out screwing around and caught Covid. Hoyer was a complete disaster and Stidham comes into game where the D is ramped on adrenalin and the team is down 24 points. I might have told Bill to fuck himself when he decided to pull Hoyer.
People don't have good attitudes when they're unceremoniously shitcanned . Even a blind man could see that Cam couldn't throw a football more accurately than an 8 year old. Bill stuck with him and NEVER gavr Stidham an opportunity. Catch 22. Bill didn't want to show everyone that he was right forsix months and should never have signed Cam newton..

So here we are a year later and Hoyer has been dumped. This was a chance for BB to talk to Stidham and basically tell him that he best get his shit together because he'd be competing for a roster spot. But Bill doesn't work that way, and he resigns Cam to a guaranteed $7M contract that has incentives that could make it $14M. Now Bill has a pissed off Stidham who's decided to bring all of the WR to California and work his ass off to do better. Think Bill will actually give him an honest chance? Not with Cam standing around with $7M in his pocket.

Here's the kick in the nuts. Let's say that Stidham really works the kinks out and he takes over at QB. Let's say that the patriots make back to the Super Bowl and beat Brady and his Buccaneers. Think Bill will sit down with Stidham and try to extend his contract? Think the patriots will Franchise him at $30M and really piss him off?? Bill must have had faith in the kid when he drafted him.

Bill's dog house is like an old broad sword, it has two edges. Just when you think you have it under control, you over swing a hack yourself.

In my opinion, Bill should have let both Cam and Hoyer go. Tell Stidham he's the Starter and sign an Alex Smith or Trubisky, just in case. Then draft a QB to learn the system and compete with Stidham next year and draft another QB next year.

There is an awful lot of unsubstantiated opinion there. Hard to read but I stayed with it looking for a gem. Did not find it.
If you tell yourself something enough, you will convince yourself.
But not me. My brain does not allow me to save unsubstantiated opinion.....

You can love Bill and you can love Cam, so be it.

I think Bill was unnecessarily harsh on Stidham. His saying that Stidham was the quarterback up until the day he signed Cam is fact, not opinion.
Stidham not getting a chance to start a single game is fact not opinion.
Cam not wearing a mask and catching Covid is a fact, not an opinion
Hoyer starting the KC game is a fact, not an opinion.
Stidham coming into the KC game down 24-0 is fact not opinion.

How I perceive Bill's actions are my unsubstaniated opinion, no question, but you haven't convinced me that I'm incorrect. All you can do is give me your unsubstaniated opinion.

Roger Goodell praises Robert Kraft for his role in negotiating TV deals

On Friday, Commissioner Roger Goodell convened a videoconference of owners to discuss the new TV deals. During the session, Goodell gave one owner significant credit for his role in the negotiations.
Per a source with knowledge of the call, Goodell praised Patriots owner Robert Kraft for the efforts he invested over eight months in order to get the deal done. Kraft used close relationships with key executives at each of the league’s network partners — NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, and now Amazon — to work through difficult and complex negotiations.
As the source explained it, these deals were far more complicated than ever before, thanks to the rise of streaming platforms that supplement traditional broadcast avenues. Also, for the first time ever, a major contract was negotiated to sell a key prime-time window to a streaming platform, Amazon Prime.
Ten years ago, Kraft was instrumental in the negotiations that ended the offseason lockout, laying the foundation for what has been a decade of labor peace, and what has become a much better relationship between the league and the union.
Some will shrug at Kraft’s efforts as going with the territory of being an owner, but he’s got plenty of other things that require his attention. The time spent over the past eight months focused on getting these deals done was time he could have devoted to his broader business interests.

I hate to be cynical, but does that mean Roger is now pissed to give Robert any credit and will now be imagining ways to fine the Pats more draft picks?

I completely agree with Southie here BK. Not agreeing with your unsubstantiated assertions is not the same as "Loving Bill" and or "Loving Cam". Stid was given an opportunity not a guarantee. That he failed to seize that opportunity is no reason to give up or have a "Fuck you Bill" attitude. Sheesh, do you really think BB wanted to have no better option than what Cam was leaving on the field?

BB is known for giving play time players who earn the time. Why would that be different with Stid vs Cam?

The Raiders have decided that Mariota will remain 9n Las Vegas and will not trade him.

All of the rumors are now debunked according to Ian Rappaport.

He got $3.5 million and a lot of incentives. NLTBE His contract is tradeable, for what that's worth.
Raiders have the same problem at this dollar. Nobody wants his incentives. They do save some bucks this year since the incentives don't count against the cap, since the are NLTBE

this is a great deal for raiders flacco just signed for about the same

Eagles signed QB Joe Flacco, formerly of the Jets.

It includes $3.5 million in guarantees with an additional $4.0 million in incentives.

I think someone here BK ( Maybe ) mentioned the Pats offered a 3rd. Do you or anyone else see Marcus being worth that or anymore than that?

I dont think he has a future as a starter.
I would prefer to let Cam have another shot vs taking a loser.
I should mention that Titans went from last place to playoffs by dumping Mariota and getting Tannehill, who was himself a cast-off.
I will also say that I believe we must ride the Cam train this year until we have a legit solution or perhaps Stidham shows something legitimate......
A great draft pick would be a possibility.
None of us seem to be able to develop a consensus on a pick. A little luck would be gretly appreciated.
Certainly the talking heads have no clue either.....

I would be comfy with Mack I feel he is the best QB for out style of play. I just don't think he is there at 15
