Hence when they "come to" a consensus, they will be in agreement, which would likely be somewhere closer to the middle, as in:

Maybe. There are 5 top tier QBs this year if they are all gone (l;ikely) and Smith, Waddle and Pitts are gone BB trades down. Any of the aforementioned guys are there he may take a stab at one of them. Seeing as we are in massive rebuild and need a lot of help (IMO) trading down makes the most sense.

Well there certainly a history to support that, but he hasn't needed a QB since he's been in NE either. He came in with Bledsoe and then had Brady so there was never a situation quite like this year.

This is very true. He did say things were going to change so hopefully that means he will get something in the draft but I am not getting my hopes up with his history
