Sanu was a bust... AB a bust because he couldn't contain himself. Yes Moss was amazing... Stallworth was good but recently not good.. He isn't going to trade for those players listed about in the other post...
Of course, all in hindsight.
My point being, you said BB would not bring in a top tier WR because "it is not in his DNA" but he has demonstrated in the past that he will.

I don't think he wanted AB at all and was forced to do it... So Sanu was the only player in recent history of Bill doing it. I just don't see him trying to get those players mentioned... I'm hoping I'm wrong but I don't see it happening

The truth be told, 2021 will show everyone including the Kraft family, if Bill still has the magic. It could also show that he's lost it and next year will be his last. Kraft doesn't have 10 years left to watch Bill flounder around , he 'll want something to be done next year to fix this mess. There could be people in the organization that are whispering in Robert's or Johnathan's ears. Could be sponsors that are doing the same.

No one wants to be associated with a loser and there are more than a few people that are fair weather fans and will ride the coat tails of a winner and bail out on a loser.

Bill has never had a great eye for offensive talent other than the O-Line. He hit home runs with Gronk and Hernandez. We all know what happened with Hernandez. Recently he's done well with RBs like Michel and Harris . He's seemed to have an eye in the mid rounds for a pass catching RB like White. He's always been able to make a deal for WRs that seemed to fit the offense. But we don't know if Bill was the catalyst or if Josh or TB talked Bill into getting people like Welker, Amendola, Moss or AB. Bill's forte has always been defense and that's where he feels most comfortable grabbing college talent.

2021 will force him to rebuild the offense and if he needs some help, he may not have Josh around anymore. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Josh take the Charger job and have Bill O'Brien back as the Offensive Coordinator. Bill was comfortable with him and liked him even more when he refused to take any shit from TB12 on the sideline. It wouldn't surprise me tosee Caserio take the GM job with the Panthers either. That will open the door for Mike Lombardi to come back and take over the personnel department.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

NFL Network Mock Draft as of this morning:

2-Round 2021 NFL Mock Draft | Round One

Editor’s Note: The draft order used was that of Monday, December 28 at 10:30 AM ET.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Chalk. I won’t physically harm anyone who has another name here at one. However, if they do have another name going at the top of the draft, they are not being predictive.

Unless something crazy happens, the second coming of Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, John Elway, and Leonardo da Vinci all combined into one will hear his name called first come April. Once again, “weknowdis.” Lawrence and his hair are headed to Jacksonville Beach instead of the Upper Bay. The Jets ruined their chance.

2. New York Jets: Zach Wilson, QB, Brigham Young

This is the word. It is not recency bias. Wilson was on the radar of the league long before fans. Don’t forget that Andre Ware placed him as the QB2 early in the college football season, and everybody lost their collective minds.

Wilson’s physical abilities are everything we search for in the modern QB. He possesses an effortless arm that can generate velocity from any platform and multiple arm angles. His deep ball placement is incredible at times, and his mobility is an added weapon.

Unless Justin Fields puts on a show during the College Football Playoff, it seems Wilson will be the second QB off the board.

3. Miami Dolphins: Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

4. Atlanta Falcons: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

5. Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Louisiana State

6. Philadelphia Eagles: Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

7. Detroit Lions: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

8. New York Giants: DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama

9. Carolina Panthers: Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

This 2021 2-Round NFL Mock Draft is officially off the rails. I do not want Lance to be an afterthought. Remember y’all, this is not real life. Let me explain.

Joe Burrow was a Day 3 player before Joe Brady got his hands on the offense at Louisiana State University. Lance has physical tools that make Burrow look like late-stage Drew Brees, just arm-punting the ball out in the general direction of the sideline.

This is a perfect situation for Lance to develop without having to play immediately. Teddy Bridgewater can bridge these waters until Lance can make it across to the other side. He has the same type of tools Lawrence does from a purely physical perspective, but he might be even more athletic.

10. Denver Broncos: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

I won’t blame anyone for wanting to give Drew Lock more time to develop in a division that seems unattainable for the short and long term future because of one Patrick Lavon Mahomes. I’m not waiting. Lock has a howitzer of an arm, and he’s decently athletic, but he cannot make up for his flaws as a passer with his legs like Josh Allen was able to in his first few seasons as a starter.

Fields’ legs can make up for his flaws as a passer, but he is a much more advanced passer than Lock was as a prospect. Fields can work well in the quick game and does well to deliver accurate passes downfield. He needs to improve his internal clock, but that can only come by taking more reps.

11. Dallas Cowboys: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

12. Los Angeles Chargers: Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern

13. Minnesota Vikings: Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan

14. San Francisco 49ers: Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami

15. New England Patriots: Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Not many prospects have elevated their draft stock more than Toney. He might not have the long speed of the Rondale Moore’s and Jaylen Waddle’s of the world, but his contact balance and ability to change direction make him look like a pinball out there bouncing off tacklers on his way to the end zone.

Toney is a weapon that will help Josh McDaniels get the ball out of the hands of whatever mediocre quarterback is arm-punting passes for the Patriots in 2021.

Miller’s 2-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft

This 2-Round 2021 NFL Mock Draft is about presenting a different scenario toward the top than we’ve seen previously. Just let it happen.

Of course no one takes into consideration that the patriots might lose a group of players that will change everything. Burkhead and White, Andrews and Thuney. Mick drafts at this time of the year are stupid and they all assume that not one college player will get injured. If Trevor Lawrence breaks a leg or tears an ACL will he be the #1 pick in the draft. BB would take him in the first round but I don't think that there would be many others.

As far as the above post goes, I've seen a ton of college games and I don't think I've even heard the name Alim McNeill. I would expect BB to pick a center if Andrews leaves and then maybe a running back if Rex or White leave.

I think this may be the guy Bill gets in the fourth, fifth or sixth round:

KentState_logo.gif
Dustin Crum, QB, Kent State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 201.
Projected 40 Time: 4.84.
Projected Round (2021): 6-FA.

Just means BB won't pick Toney. You know he will pick a defender with whatever pick his first is

IMO Pats love to double up.

Pats will take

QB
WR
WR
DT
QB

I will need more time to do something official but work and life are hectic at this time. The offense just needs to much help we have no starting QB not back up QB at least as it relates to NFL caliber talent. WRs suck less Jakobi, I can see the Pats doubling down. almost have to.

I don't see BB taking a QB.. I really don't. What in his track record would make you think he would? Yes I know this is a completely different year but with his history it just doesn't seem possible that he will

Is this sarcasm because BB has drafted a lot of QB s.? Now maybe we only draft one and try to get a vet FA but one or another I see two QB s and two WR s in the mix

Some quick work up of what i would at least like to see the Pats target JMHO. If course this all depends on availability

Round1: Jaylen Waddle WR Bama or Trey Lance QB North Dakota State.

Round 2: Marvin Wilson DT FSU or Rondal Moore WR Purdue / Roshod Bateman WE Minn

Round 3: Best WE Avail

Round 4: Best ILB

Round 5: Brock Purdy QB Iowa State

Prescott is the only one I think is better than Cam. And we aren’t getting him.

I'd take Brisset, Prescott and Andy "Fucking" Dalton over Newton. Newton just can't throw the ball anymore at least on the Patriots.
