I am a Wizards fan. They suck and have been horribly managed for years. No way in hell am I delusional enough to think people treat me different because of who I root for though.

The only part of his proclamation that holds even an ounce of truth is that people tend to form kinships with others that they have things in common with. If you share a rooting interest with someone you are more likely to agree with them and form bonds. Nobody here roots for the Pacers and Nuggets, so he doesn't have that.

But that isn't why people don't like him and that is what he claims. So instead he chooses to play the victim card every chance he gets. There are plenty of other posters out here that are the lone representative for their teams in terms among the regular posters. And none of them get treated differently because of it.

That I agree with......has nothing to do with team of preference.

No cap space available for FAs until Kobe retired, which unfortunately coincided with the Jimmy Buss "era". You could include Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Rick Fox, Ron Artest, Brian Shaw, Derek Fisher, etc on that list, but they weren't peak elite players of course.

Cannot say I've followed LA as closely but this seems fair. Guessing until last season LA has not often had much room to sign FAs.

Only times I recall the Cavs having room they signed Larry Hughes and Lebron. Hughes obviously didn't work out, but he was a top FA and was coming off a very good season with Washington. Lebron signing went OK.

We get it.

You don't like building through the draft. You would prefer teams plod around .500 for years at a time trying to get marginally better each year until they eventually fall apart and lose a couple core pieces.

Building through the draft doesn't always work. But when you look at the top teams in the NBA today, most got there because they built their core through the draft, then added a couple smart trades or FA acquisitions to fill in the holes. All of these teams were built that way:

Golden State
Denver
Portland
Utah
Milwaukee
Philly
Boston

And yeah, there are certainly plenty of examples where it doesn't work. But I would rather my team go the Minnesota route than the Charlotte route any day of the week.

LOL, coat-tailer? I've been a Warrior fan since 92, and suffered all the years in the nose-bleeds. I've witnessed my franchise only recently have success and have had many seasons where our only optimism was hoping Monta Ellis might get considered for an All Star nod, or if our draft pick would end up to be the next big thing (hint, they never were).

Do you know I fucking hate the Lakers? Their fans have given us the most shit for years. I hate Kobe. I like Shaq, but who doesn't. Other than that I could give a rat fuck about anyone who's played for the Lakers. And even I disagree with your assessment. I hope every year the Lakers are in the absolute shitter and nothing would please me more. But that doesn't mean I can't be objective about an actual basketball situation. So how the fuck could you consider me riding an LA bandwagon?

Ya'll discount the presence you had at Oracle for years. When we sucked, LA fans made up more than half of the crowd. It was sickening. I overheard a guy say he paid for near courtside seats and flew up to watch the Lakers play the Warriors here because all that cost was still a fraction of what they would have paid to watch the Lakers at home.

I have plenty of friends who are lifetime Laker fans (despite never living there) and huge Kobe fans that let us hear it every time he dropped 50 on us.
