Question would be if the Hawks lose this game should we lean on kinda wanting them to tank the rest of the season?

I have a feeling we're going to have to score at least 30 points to have a shot...

I have never been a fan of tanking... I root to win each week... You can't ask player to not try as hard... They're playing for new contracts and etc...

Losing is a disease. Once you start being a losing team, it is difficult to turn it around.

I am happy with any win they get but the loses don't really bother me THIS year..... but the DEFENSE does. I am watching the games because I love the Hawks but in the big picture I would rather have them get a better draft pick/picks. If they lose i would rather it be a 14-17 type loss not a 32 to 38 type loss.

Actually the Wins might bother me more right now than the losses because this defense is SO BAD. They are 3rd worst on 3rd downs ( 49% ) in the NFL on defense and it's not even that good as OVER 10% OF THOSE 3rd down stops have been converted to 1sts on 4th downs.

Ok so over HALF their 3rd/4th downs faced on Defense are converted to a first down. 35 converted out of 68.

You know what would be the best option here, that would be to lose every game but look good doing it right? haha. :thumb:

How many of those were penalties?

None. I didn't add in the penalties. Defense has gotten jobbed on some really ticky tacky calls.

I could love with a bad season if we wound up losing a bunch of tough luck games. That is a natural byproduct of having someone like Geno as your QB.

But right now our team looks pretty bad. The defense looks terrible against everyone. The offense looks good against bad defenses and bad against good defenses.

We've played one team with a winning record and we are 2-3 and, honestly, kinda lucky to be 2-3.

It does look like 3 or 4 wins is not outside the realm of possibility.

I say root for a win every week, but don't get to upset if they lose.

This is the spot on philosophy I've been saying all year. I want the team to win end of day... tanking the season for draft picks is a stupid philosophy. There's teams drafting high every year that are just perpetually stuck there and can't do shit with it. If you bring talented players into an organization with horrible coaching and a "couldn't care less" locker room attitude, they're likely not going to thrive there.

And then, good luck attracting free agents at any sort of reasonable contract. You'll have to vastly overpay them which means at that point, how much do they really care? lol.... I mean once these guys are paid the only other thing they really care about is winning a Super Bowl. If they are going to a team that 'tanked' a season and they think there's zero shot of winning, they're going to give way less than 100% effort to ensure they aren't injured once they retire from their fat/happy contract.

Now yah, if you have the picks we have and we lose, well.... at least there's SOMETHING good out of it... but I'd rather have the win any day. So if Seattle loses and we're 2-4? I want them winning against the Chargers the week after that. And I want a revenge win in Arizona a few weeks later.

Yah... Seattle is going to have to blitz to get to Murray, because the Cards' tackles are pretty good... Brooks matches up great against Murray in QB spy... but with Wagner gone can he keep up both the responsibility of containing Murray and being the #1 ILB?

my god this defense is SO bad, the Cards haven't scored a opening drive TD all year. Hell i dont think they had scored ANY points.

OK thats what the announcers just said 0 points in the 1st quarter and we give up 3 to them. better than 7 though.

I wish I could line up everyone that screamed Fire Norton and take a Baseball bat to them LMAO :P As bad as the Hawks Defense was they were not this bad and there was always hope they WOULD turn it around. I have zero hope as it gets worse and worse.
