You wouldn't think a team who the Hawks beat 43-8 6 months ago would have me worried, but
- Usually the Hawks at home come out with such a huge emotional lift that the other team just can't keep up. But these Broncos have had this game circled since the schedule came out. If a visiting team is ever going to equal (or better) the lift the Hawks get from playing at home, it's these Broncos.
- The terrible Broncos defense that had me so confident in the Super Bowl has a bunch of new faces and should be better on paper. That hasn't translated yet, and I hope it takes them at least another week to do so.
- Manning should be able to execute the same game plan Rivers did last week. Then again, he had the Super Bowl to do that and couldn't, Seattle will be at home, not away in 120 degree heat, and they can't possibly be that bad at tackling again...right?
It sure would be nice to get something out of our special teams that isn't a turnover this week.
All being said, I think last week serves as a kick in the ass for this team and they win this one (thanks to it being a home game). Before last week I would have picked the Hawks here home or away.
