reggie nelson prolly not going back to cincy??
Doesn't sound like it. From the way I understood it, they had to choose between either Iloka or Nelson. And they already inked Iloka.

But losing Marvin Jones & Sanu has to free up some planned money. Those 2 got paid absurd amounts of WR2 money.

ATL paid Sanu 32.5/5/14g...if he busts, he gets $4.6m per (avg) for 3...still a lot of cash for a decent player....considering he only got 50 targets LY, he might not hurt CIN much but Jones does hurt.

Team not sold in Villa as the starter, yet. Like his potential, but not only does starting him mean a downgrade from Beachum, but then you don't have that quality at the #6 OL anymore.

Beachum is really good, despite his size disadvantage. This offer does two things. It makes Beachum aware he is on the clock for coming back, and it's a legit offer to keep the LT position locked down.

I would prefer to retain Beachum. This might get him antsy to accept a deal.

I mean really, would he prefer to play for the Jags or Jets?

Okung... It is of my belief that he is a step down from Beach. How big? Not sure. Didn't see enough tape on him. But he's not the high caliber player that he wants to be paid like. I've heard from SEA fans that he's not worth the money. IMO AVill is the better option over Okung.

Beach... He's clearly after the paycheck. Kind of a shame, but understandable. You would think he has some sort of loyalty to the team that took a chance on him in the 6th round of the draft and made him who he is today. I'm sure Munchak had a lot to do with his development. Not saying he wouldn't succeed elsewhere, but the chemistry he has with this O-line is important. Cohesiveness along the O-line is huge. Without it he might struggle. I thought the allure of hunting a SB would have been enough to make him sign a 1yr deal at the very least. Still could...

FWIW, there are a lot of Steeler fans that don't think Beachum is worth the money, too.

I agree that Beach > Okung. But if we can't get Beachum back, I would like to see Okung here. We made an offer of what we think he's worth. Won't know what that is unless he accepts it.
