Why so? I know you wanted Beach back, but that ship had sailed when he didn't take whatever they offered...I'm happy for Beach to be honest if he got a multi-yr deal...he's earned it, just maybe too rich for the Steelers cap.
That's it, really. I wanted him back. He is young and talented, and I wanted him to be here. I remain high on him as a LT.

Beach does have talent, but he's made it more on grit, hard work, and attitude imo...that's why I like him so much, he brings a nasty, OG, hardhat type mentality to the position...Adams had more natural talent, but Beach just wanted it more.

I don't blame him for chasing the dollar...he played in PIT for pennies on the dollar compared to Gilbert, yet never complained, played out his contract and I wanted to see him get rewarded...if not in PIT...somewhere...the league needs more guys like him.

Damn, that D-line is going to be nasty. Already was, but it got even better with McLendon in the fold.

It will be interesting to see where they decide to play him...NT or DE....they still need to figure out QB though.

This helped.

Steelers Sign OT Ryan Harris To Two Year Deal - Steelers Depot

Got experience and competition for the LT job...worse case, if he can't beat out AVill...the depth was improved and maybe we've seen the last of Adams.

He didn't cost a ton either...less than 4 mil for 2 yrs.

We had too many starting caliber ILB's vying for roles here anyway. Can't keep them all.

Good for him, now he can get the playing time he deserves.

Deepest position on the field...for now...I find it hard to believe they will let Timmons play with a $15 mil CH this yr, but if they do, I expect '16 to be his last yr and they extend VW next yr to take the buck role in '17.

I'm still waiting for a Timmons extension...so we'll see. I view Spence as more of a rotation guy, but I have to think he will start at TN.

Timmons, Ben and Brown probrably get extensions this offseason yet.

All their cap hits need to come down.

Otherwise why sign with Tenn???

I mean he got a 1 yr deal, so TN is wanting to see first themselves.

Oh, only a year.

Yeah a couple of Steeler bloggers reported $2.5 for 1 yr....I think he visited MIA and JAX so feel like this was his best offer.

IMO he can play OLB 4-3 which is probably why JAX and MIA were interested, but I'm thinking he wanted to stay with a familiar role.

They usually only carry 8 lineman IIRC... 5 starters, 2 interior rotation guys, and 1 backup OT. Wallace & Hubbard have been those interior guys for over 2 seasons now, & Adams/AVill the backup OT. I think Adams would have been cut last offseason if it weren't for his PUP/IR stashing. So with Harris onboard, I would guess that Adams is likely gone unless an injury occurs during camps. 4 OT's now on the roster with starting experience. That's a good problem to have!

Glad to see Spence find a home. Wish it was here, but he'll do great in TEN. Hopefully he can hold up to a full time role. Losing Spence means that V-Will is going to see more time in both Mack & Buck. I now hope they can figure out a way to get Garvin back. Like I said before, losing both Spence & Garvin would sting. Another thing worth mentioning is Moats was a full time ILB at Buffalo. So he has the experience to support the position. That might help sway Colbert to draft either OLB or ILB depending on who's available at the time they start looking (4th, 6th, or 7th?). Depending on which position they go with, might push Moats into the other LB position.

But even still, they don't have to make that decision until the season starts. Moats' experience allows them to shift him without a lot of prep work so they can wait as long as it takes.

ILB...a 3 man rotation imo is better assuming Shazier stays healthy...but Spence did bring more of that speed skillset...good points on Moats, but if Deebo doesn't play they will need him to roam both sides maybe.

No word a Garvin yet, but I don't think he's going to get a Spence like contract...maybe he's back on a vets min deal.

Former Steelers LB Terence Garvin signs contract with Washington Redskins

Son bech... Now this makes ILB a priority in the draft IMO.

@Caliskinsfan you're going to like this guy. Garvin has a lot of talent, and is a ST ace. He was unfortunately buried on a depth chart that had 4-5 starting caliber ILB's so playing time was sparse. Our LB's coach Butler, now the DC, has openly stated that Garvin could start on any team in the NFL. He made most of his impact on ST while he was here. I was hoping they would bring him back.

Good luck Garvin! Make a name for yourself!
