That sounds about right....the part that I'm pretty sure about is all teams must be under the cap as of 4p today. I think we all know that Allen is probably not going to make this team, so I'll let the powers that be figure out when it's time to release him.
Agreed. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Antwon Blake doesn't show up in anything Steeler related lol

lol...right now, we know...Gay, Cockrell are locked in outside. We think Golson will take CB3/slot...I assume nothing will be handed to Golson so I can see Blake re-signing here at the vet min to compete.

This does make me wonder where they go @25 now...OG we can take out of the mix with Foster back in the fold. It's back to CB or DL I think.

Blake... If only to compete in the slot, then sure. But I'd much rather let Grant compete with Golson on the inside.

Side note... All these last names in the secondary that start with G are starting to fluster my thought process Gay, Golson, Golden, Grant :gaah:

I saw that...The so called insiders seem to think this is a go.

On the DIV...BAL lost Osemle to OAK and CLE appears to be losing Alex Mack to ATL and Travis Benjamin to SD...CIN lost Marvin Jones to DET...I think they retained Lloka.

Lot of Gs for sure.

I'm hoping the drafted CB and take over CB4 to be honest, but we know how Tomlin is with vets...you do one thing good and they like you for life it seems.

Curious if they see Ladarius Green as a starter or depth guy. We know James still has a lot to learn, but he was impressive last season when given the opportunity. Spaeth nearing retirement, so the position is in extreme flux.

Green has developed into a very good blocker, so he would be the starter, if signed. Him being an excellent receiver is just icing on that.

I'd like to see some Boykin news today still, NOT including him bolting to the Falcons.

Ladarius Green headed to Steelers

San Diego Trib is reporting that this is a done deal, pending a physical. Apparently, Green struggled with some concussion issues last season.

Really cool to read up on this guy. Seems like he has tremendous burst off the line and that 6'6" frame!! Yeah, I'll take that when you think about the amount of undersized CB's that are in the AFCN.

Hope this kid gets the green light from the physical. That will free the Steelers up to make moves for the secondary early in the draft, and not have to worry about looking for a TE in the early rounds.

Not sure that its going to happen. But I'd love it if they could pull it off. Word is they are really trying to resign Beachum. And now with the Ladarius Green acquisition, it seems pretty unlikely they can make room. They still need to restructure Timmons & extend DeCastro. That would free up some space, as well as designating Cortez Allen as a June 1st release (has to be announced after 4pm today).

Looks like a bit player from what I can tell. His most productive yr he was targeted less than 50 times.

I think James will split time and of course Spaeth is the 6th OL.

This is what I'm thinking as well. Knee jerk reaction is to expect Green to come in and take over, but I'm not so sure. James may not be as fast, but he is just as good a blocker as Green. At least from what I have seen so far.

Not much more can be done until they restructure Timmons & extend DeCastro.

On 2nd thought...with the contract I think MT and Colbert are expecting more than a bit player...seems like he may be that athletic, match up problem type TE we have seen other teams get.

Heath relief: Steelers get tight end Ladarius Green

I didn't realize ATL had him on their radar...Alex Mack was their 1st priority. They secured him and a DE from MIA...they made an offer to Sanu last night I hear, and it sounds like they might look at a OG...a CB would be news to me.

Considering they have asked C. Allen for a price cut, that tells me they at least want to see what he looks like in camp. I think he should take the cut and go re-prove himself...if he can. I have my doubts there.

Boykins...I like him, but Idk if a 3rd slot guy is what they need....really need a young outside CB to push Cockrell and even Gay.
