I saw that. Was curious to see what interest others had with him. I don't know enough about him so its good to hear from someone who knows the team better. What kind of injuries is he dealing with?

I wouldn't be surprised if Colbert contacts his agent to gauge his value/price. Can't remember the exact date when they can start calling agents, and FA doesn't start til March. So we might not hear anything about it for a few weeks.

I still like Willie Mo, but the more I think about it...he might not be the guy....word is two teams have already reached out to him...might drive the price too high for a 31 y/o stop gap SS.

Injuries have mostly been shoulders from impact, the most recent was an ankle. Steelers might be better served to look at Tashuan Gipson from CLE...younger, possibly more affordable....longer term player.

what is sad is , if he came out of school a year early he dominated and there was talk of him being a high first round pick, then the real landry came out....

I can go back and forth on him. He showed flashes of why they keep him around, but then when he's given a full week of prep... A situation when you would expect him to be better... He fails.

hes had too long to prepare, and fail, can find many others who are better, but not wait until after preseason to do it

Yea I think its safe to say his ceiling is lower than what they wanted. And that's a lower tiered QB2. More like a QB3 camp body.

I'm not sure I like the idea of paying out the ass for Beachum to be a LT. Don't get me wrong, he deserves it. But with AVill on payroll it doesn't make sense. I'd rather pay DeCastro & Le'Veon before offering Beachum a big contract.

My guess is they are going to lowball Beach to gauge his interest with the Steelers. If he doesn't take the deal then Steelers are going to have to hammer out a plan pretty quickly. March FA is fast approaching so this is Colbert doing his due-diligence. This is a necessary step in order to figure out which route they want to take. Signing Foster and/or drafting a O-lineman in the first couple rounds makes a lot of sense.

All better than Landry. Probably better arms than Bruce too. Would take time for them to adjust to the system. Something Flynn & Cassell are quite accustomed to at this point.

The only thing that I fear with Bruce is the Batch/Leftwich situation that they ran into a few years back. They need the backup QB to be a health-reliable position, not filled with someone that is going to get injured easily. If Bruce can stay healthy then I'd have no qualms with him filling the position, but if he can't withstand Training Camp anymore then its time to look elsewhere.

Yea he was hurt before camp. Which irritated me. I have a problem with players coming off the offseason on PUP. Adams, Gradkowski... If someone doesn't have a personal offseason regimen to upkeep their body then this is what happens. To me, that's laziness. I know that can be unfair because all situations are different, and you are in this field so you see it first hand so I'm sure you have a different opinion. But when someone is getting paid as well as a professional NFL athlete, the least they could do is put in the time & work to keep their bodies at optimum condition.

shoulders are fickle man, i know from exeperience, and from my job.......sometimes its a waiting game, theres ALOT going on in a shoulder, especially being a ball and socket joint with practically full range of motion, more than the other ball and socket joint at the hip

With Bruce's situation... As it is with all aging athletes... The upkeep demands for the body become increasingly important every year. Troy figured that out the hard way. It wasn't until his last couple seasons before he figure out how to stay healthy. IMO the QB position doesn't have nearly the same physical demands as other positions, so focusing on the throwing shoulder should be priority number 1 for a QB. Am I right? Which to an outsider such as myself doesn't seem all that difficult to do. I wasn't as irritated with Bruce being injured prior to TC than I was with Mike Adams. Adams is young & shouldn't be running into these sorts of problems this early in his career.

Your right with the throwing shoulder, but if its injured, or something happens , then its tough, and theres ALOT going on in that joint so its easy to do.........mike adams, no excuses
