I know you see the Rangers a heck of a lot more than I do, but I don't know if Erixon will even come close to the game that Del Zotto currently brings to the table.

/Granted, I am biased due to Erixon's screwjob of the Flames...

I just feel DZ is too soft

we'll finally get an answer on the debate whether Nash truly is a primetime player or just a secondary cog at best

is a Gaborik / Richards / Nash line gonna play with 3 pucks? gonna have to wait and see if they can manufacture chemistry

And they'll have to wait a little while on Gabby after his surgery.

I'm not saying this can't work out well, I just don't see it as a game changer.

They wanted him to make a trade maybe, but a good one, and he completely blew it.

you dont think that trade goes across the owners table before it happens??? We're talking about the guy who was their franchise player

Howson can redeem himself if that pick turns out to be the 2nd coming of Gretzky. So there's always that...

time for Rick Nash to learn how (or time to start giving a damn) to block shots for Torts system

Nash's 21 blocked shots last year would put him close to the bottom of the Rangers blocked shots team list ... only player with more than 35 games played and fewer blocked shots that Nash on last years Rangers was Mike Rupp (60 games - 13 blocked shots)

And Rupp plays limited minutes at that.

And here I thought this was the worst moment in Blue Jackets history...

So, the big four of the Rangers are now:

Nash $7.8M/yr
Gaborik $7.5M/yr
B.Richards $6.7M/yr
Lundqvist $6.9M/yr

with a supporting cast of Callahan, Stepan, Kreider, Hagelin, Staal, Mcdonagh, Del Zotto, and Girardi. Geez, I hate to give Slats credit, but that's a very solid looking team.

.

Richards contract looks like a bargain compared to the two wingers above him, per cap hit.

It should be a hell of a number one scoring line, provided good health :pout:

In the next 2 years all but Staal will need to be resigned from that supporting cast and a few of those guys will get substantial raises. It should be interesting to see what the Rags look like in 3 years especially since Sather likes to pursue and overpay the top FA's every year.

Man, Twitter is going hard after Tim Erixon today:

Ray Ferraro ‏@rayferrarotsn
Tim Erixon, u know the phrase "careful what you wish for"- Didn't want to play in Calgary, got his deal to NYR, now will play in CBJ #oops

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer
Many in Calgary smiling today by the sounds of it. Tim Erixon refused to sign, forced his way to NYR. Now exiled to Columbus.

CTV - Chris Epp ‏@CTVchrisepp
Remember when Tim Erixon stiffed the Flames because he and his old man insisted he play with the Rangers? Enjoy Columbus, buddy.

Joe Yerdon ‏@JoeYerdonPHT
Methinks Tim Erixon learned a hard lesson about the business today.

Vicki Hall ‏@vickihallch
So Tim Erixon, how do you like Calgary now? #justwondering

Shane ‏@AnOceanPearl
AHAHAHAAH TIM ERIXON

I just wonder how long it will take Torts to alienate Nash & then how much getting Gabby back will screw up any chemistry Richards and Nash can develope. I'm not cnvinced they will be that much better then this year. Plus most of it will be on Hank's shoulders again.

How tough did it just become to market the 2013 NHL All-Star game in Columbus?
