7 OTTAWA NE 45 23 16 6 52
8 NY RANGERS ATL 46 24 18 4 52
9 WINNIPEG SE 47 24 20 3 51

Winnipeg only one more game to go, so they would have to win it and Rangers lose their last two to have a shot.
Ottawa only needs on point out of last 3 games to seal it, and still could move up over NYI

so hypothetically, Winnipeg loses last game in OT
Rangers lose last 2 games. Ottawa loses last 3
All finish with 52 points.

I know Ottawa drops out with one less win

but whats the next tiebreak between NRY & Ott

If they all tie with 52 points the first tie-breaker is "ROW" Regulation and Overtime wins, shootout wins would be discounted. So the standings would be...
Winnipeg
NY Rangers
Ottawa

ok, so if tied in wins they remove the SO wins. Good to know.

It's cool. There is nothing wrong with going all in. It should be applauded and I applaud it. It was all legal.

You know how I know you're not from Boston?

Oh wait...I think I see where you misunderstood me. I wasn't offended. I was referring to all the offensive players we acquired before the trade deadline. :laugh3:

I wouldn't be so quick to give the Pittsburgh Yankees the second round advance. I think those pesky Rangers and King Hank could give them all that they want.

I'd much rather play the Rags than any of those Canadian teams.
1. Travel
2. Cooke - Karrlson thingy
3. Winnipeg's fans are nuts
4. Just don't think the Rags can beat us

WARNING WARNING WARNING.....

The playoffs starts a new season, a goalie can get hot (or cold) a team can get a couple good bounces and how often have we seen a so so player pick it up in the playoffs and become a scoring machine.

How often have we seen a team struggle on the PP or PK but the playoffs come and they turn it around. Anything can happen and be careful what you ask for. I know it makes for good conversation but some people take it seriously (I saw it in a thread yesterday) a poster was confident his team would kick the other teams ass because they did all season long.

I can remember a few years where the team the Sabres were playing in the playoffs had records that completely reversed after the series was over. You never know and like the old saying goes. Be careful what you ask for.....

BTW, I think a Chicago V Pittsburgh or Boston would be a good final. :suds:

I have no problem with my team playing the Penguins in round 1. Just make sure the series goes 7 games. The Isles have NEVER lost a Game 7 to Pittsburgh.

Oh yeah, Well the Sabres didn't lose ONE playoff game last year and odds are the wont this year as well. So there !!

Boss, just because the thread title says that teams are fighting for the right to lose to the Pens in 6, doesn't mean that team will exercise that right. ;)

I realize the Pens expect to get all their players back for the playoffs, but they seem to be falling like flies. Orpik left last nights game with an injury. No team is unbeatable. Especially one with many of their star players injured.

It will come down to goaltending. If their 1st round opponents goalie stands on his head & Fleury plays like he did last year against Philly ALL BETS ARE OFF.
