Hickory almost got another combined no hitter tonight. They lost it in the 9th.

if they want to compete in any sense of the word, there will have to be significant upgrades on both sides of the ball. I don't want them gutting the farm to do that.
I agree that we do not want to gut the farm because we did that a few years ago and it has taken a while to build it back up. But we do have some trade pieces down on the farm that have nowhere to go.

Saw last night that Winn had 7 walks in 3 2/3 innings. I don't know what is going on at RR and Frisco.

I think the owners and CU were 100% on board with the signings.
Maybe, but are they still happy now???

You also have to wonder if CY wanted these guys or was he recommending signing other guys???

From our history - granted, is is not so much granted going forward - we take chances on arms.........I can't honestly answer re: Leclerc's value. But my gut would say yes to next year and then let the results determine his future.
i understand but i don't think he is worth $6M for the 2 years and would pass on the option and maybe look to re-sign him. i would rather see the Rangers go after a couple of FA bullpen pieces including a quality closer

he said he doesn't see the Rangers spending half a billion again. Given that no other team ever has done that before, not a shock that we wouldn't do it again.
Perez and Moore plus at least 2 really good bullpen pieces would satisfy me along with Jung and Huff added to the positional roster

I wouldn't count anything out. I have faith that CY will do what he can to upgrade the team. Davis went on record saying the plan is to complete next year. Personally speaking, it will take a LOT more than Garver to accomplish that.
i know most on here don't want Garver back based on last year but i think neither he, the Twins and the Rangers realized the issue with his arm until after the season started. once they did the Rangers didn't push for him to have surgery hard enough even after the long stint on the DL. he and the Rangers believed that he could continue to hit. which it turned out was wrong.

as far as the rest, i think Jung will be in the starting lineup on opening day which means the batting order (not in this exact order) will look something like Semien 2B, Seager SS, Garcia RF, Lowe 1B, Jung 3B, Garver DH/C, Heim C/DH, Taveras CF & probably Thompson LF. potentially that is 10-20X better than what we're seeing right now

meant Garver not Huff but if we end up giving up on Garver then Huff
