No More "Bullpen Failure"
Eric Nadel saying that CY seemed to imply that the Rangers would not need to go after a bat in the offseason with Jung and Garver coming aboard in 2023.
So they think someone hitting .207 is a good bat.Eric Nadel saying that CY seemed to imply that the Rangers would not need to go after a bat in the offseason with Jung and Garver coming aboard in 2023.
Also, he's improved his allowed OPS by a decent bit and reduced his hits allowed per nine innings by almost a hit.Right now, in the 5 games since he came back from his ankle injury, he has an ERA of just under 3.00. So, I tend to agree with you.

A fifteen win improvement would be impressive given the craziness of the season.Rangers are 2-2 under TB. If they can go .500 the rest of the way that puts them at 75 wins.

Too bad they can't play Oakland at home for the rest of the season.Rangers are 2-2 under TB. If they can go .500 the rest of the way that puts them at 75 wins.
Is it a given that Leclerc cannot be the closer? Wasn't his signing supposed to 'shore up' the spot when signed?we need to rebuild the Bullpen with the exception of a couple of guys our present bullpen is really bad. this off-season we need to add 2 or 3 pieces with one being a quality closer
true but neither he nor the Twins recognized it and it wasn't detected in the trade physicals. he is still under arbitration for 2023 so i expect the Rangers will go thru it with him and see what he does in ST. and they will look at what happened in 2022 as an injury effected season and not indicative of Garver's abilityWell if thorough medicals are done, that would show things that are there and if they aren't there and they just happen after guys get here, there's nothing that can combat that. Problem is when these things aren't done, nobody knows when they occurred or if they have or even could potentially happen.
I just think I remember the diagnosis on Garver was he had this injury for a period of some time, likely before ST
Sounds to me like Davis wants to fill the stadium and Linder the gavel. Love to get that middle of the order bat but to learn how to win in a complete transition may not happen overnight lIf I heard Davis correctly he said we need a bat in the middle of our lineup, and two starters. But he doesn't see spending this off season like he did last year.
Sounds like Chris Young's future may not be anchored in bedrock if this is going to be the approach.
Leclerc has a $6M option for 2023 and a $6.25M for 2024. do you feel he's worth those numbers? Is it a given that Leclerc cannot be the closer? Wasn't his signing supposed to 'shore up' the spot when signed?
Also, I haven't seen Hearn throw enough, but from my limited viewing I see a guy who wants to start but can't, and I question if he's good for more than 3 - 5 batters. Am I off base on this? Sounds like closing - at least potentially - may be his ideal spot.
From our history - granted, is is not so much granted going forward - we take chances on arms.........I can't honestly answer re: Leclerc's value. But my gut would say yes to next year and then let the results determine his future.Leclerc has a $6M option for 2023 and a $6.25M for 2024. do you feel he's worth those numbers?
and no not off base on Hearn
Agree with ya 100% on the overnight resurrection.......Agree with ya on CY too..............It would not surprise me at all if this team were on the selling block within 12 - 18 months. And there's nothing wrong with this.Sounds to me like Davis wants to fill the stadium and Linder the gavel. Love to get that middle of the order bat but to learn how to win in a complete transition may not happen overnight l
CY looks to be a good choice. Yes JD got a lot of years so maybe CY will too.
Scattered thought Wonder if they are trying to drive up the value to sell. Probably off since they did spend a lot of cash. Guess they thought that would sell tickets immediately
