You saw how ownership handled the dismissal and everything JD did was cloak and dagger

I am not saying the move was bad but i do question the public perception of how things went down in the inner workings. No way JD had Carte balance. Think of Rendon FA. Jd was on a leash
In my estimation, the four biggest offenses committed by JD over the last year or so are:

1) The 2021 draft after Leiter
2) The Gibson trade
3) Signing two very expensive MIF free agents when that is a strength in the system
4) The lack of significant development of Leiter and Winn this year

None of that is on Ray "the Rat" Davis.

Dunning ranks 4th in the big leagues on ground ball rates. He is already 6 for 6 today. Perez ranks 8th.
There is definitely a lot to like about Dunning even though his control can be kinda inconsistent.
I can see him settling in and becoming a 3.75 ERA type guy.

There are too many variables involved for #4 to be on JD

May be just me but I sense quite a bit of angst towards the FO, JD or the opportunity he really wasn't given and I couldn't blame him in ht least

What do you see as worse than those?
I can really go into it now. And yes JD and his hand was likely the leader of farm development a definite flaw.

I think the owners had more say so on player acquisitions than we are led to believe

Davis looks pretty hands on to me

The fourth one is definitely the least direct link. I just think he is responsible for the developmental staff in place. The other three are plenty big enough though. In fact, at first, I didn't include the last one.

I also think CY had as much pull as anyone for the FA pickups. He became the golden child.

I am looking at the personality profiles.

We will have to disagree very significantly on this one. I think outside of budget parameters the ownership was hands off in which players we went after. I think they in no way forced JD to do those things I listed.

If I felt the way you did, I think I would give up on following the team until ownership sold the team. Even then, the next group could do the same thing
