Holding onto one pitcher (Perez)and signing one more seems reasonable. I doubt anyone who is excelling will be blocked.
Pretty sick if bullpen games because the cup boy is bare

And yes the pen needs to be addressed

That is a lot easier to say if one doesn't expect much excelling to take place.

I think for the most part, very few expect all three of White, Winn and Leiter to excel at AAA. There are probably a substantial amount of folks who doubt even two of them will. Who knows, maybe none of them will, and fifteen months from now we will be looking for 2 more starting pitchers.

I think Gray's contract will run out around the same time our young guys turn into locks for the rotation year in, year out. He could always be traded with a year left on his deal as well.

Who knows I just don’t think they will be blocked and I doubt if we sign 2 pitchers for 3 years a piece but jus t my little shot in the dark
Point is we need pitching and if we have too much maybe we trade one. Doubt if makes difference next season unless we make huge advances

The more I think about it and despite Beas emphasis on fundamentals. The writing on the wall is the Rangers want to start fresh

I bet we make a new hire at manager with a lot of new staff

It’s kind of late to make a turnaround, the guys are entrenched in bad habits as well as some new guys trying to make something happen but not here yet. Kind of like Bubba chasing ball 4 last night in a critical inning that would changed the complexion of the game

They could trade Gray, but it could be a tough decision to do so. If the team is poised to make a run at the pennant in 2025 and Gray is coming off a year with an ERA close to 4.00, it wouldn't be easy to trade him in hopes that a young pitcher who just excelled in AAA in 2024 can replace him in 2025. Some teams simply would not do that. That is a move that could get you fired if the youngster struggles for 3 or 4 months and the veteran goes off and has another good season.

Don't get me wrong, there is no guarantee that this will even be a "problem." Winn could never recover. White could become a lesser prospect in AAA and Leiter could be scheduled for Tommy John surgery a year from now.

This is just something to think about as this season plays out and we head into the offseason.

In other words, we can't bring him up too soon or he will use up his rookie status and won't be able to win us that extra draft pick.

I still think it is ironic that the new wrinkle in the CBA that is supposed to help keep teams from being tempted to game the system, is tempting them to game the system in another way.

still doesn't disqualifying him from DH'ing and taking fielding practice with this team. DFA Culberson add Jung to the 40 and use him as the DH after the 1st September call-up.

Jung already has 20 more AB than anyone on the Rangers got in ST this year, and no doubt has played in the field more innings than anyone on the Rangers did in ST.

And I don't mind. I would like a shot at that extra draft pick, and even not considering the pick, it would be nice to have a ROY winner.

I cannot emphasize enough that having more quality homegrown starting pitchers than there are rotation spots available is the absolute best "problem" a franchise can have.

You just cant have too much pitching, everything being fluid.

Guys can be moved, go on the IL, have career ending injuries and projecting where guys may end up, 2 years before they are likely even ready for MLB, is silly. Wherever you think they may be 1-2-3 years from now, they almost certainly won't be.

Yes, let's rely on Garver and his .207 average again next season. Lol
