Hopefully the Bruins help us out a little.
Nice to be ahead of the Pens, but right now, Boston is more of a threat to our playoff chances. I just hope the game ends in regulation. Shitsburgh are in last place and have a league-worst -33 goal differential. Can't keep the puck out of their net. All of their top scorers are old and they can't find a decent goalie. It's a beautiful thing.

If you're not watching, this team is pretty damn entertaining and resilient right now. All three goalies have now shown recently the ability to play at a high level and get wins in the Nhl. I believe we can play well with any of them now that the team game is so strong all over the ice.

Kolosov may even be a better option than Fedotov right now. He kind of just outdueled Binnington, who was pretty damn good, and has already won a Cup.

The penalty on Konecny with only 2:10 in regulation I think was definitely bullshit. You don't call that weak of a penalty at such a critical moment of the game and basically hand the Blues a 6 on 4 power play. They completely overwhelmed us to tie that game up. It's not at all right, but again, we overcame it and won this game just 28 seconds in OT via a Michkov breakaway where he went post and in. Incredible play by Konecny to get the assist.

We beat the Blues 3-2 on the second day of a back to back on the road and fortunately, the point we gave them won't matter for anything.

At 12-10-3, suddenly the narrative is changing. Maybe not trade away every veteran and fire all of the coaches.

Michkov is crazy good for a 19 year old.

Sweet pass on the first goal and that forehand to backhand shot was really quick to end it.

He has an incredible feel for the game.

As young as he is, the kid has game-breaking potential, especially when he has space. So, whenever we're 4 on 4, on the power play, in overtime or even in a shootout, he can absolutely be the difference-maker. We have not had that in a long, long time.

It's early and I don't want to anoint the kid, but if we're talking strictly clutch gene, you might have to go back to Johnny LeClair or Brian Propp. They are the franchise leaders in GWG's with 61 and 55, respectfully.

Michkov has 3 in only 23 games and he's not getting a ton of ice time, at least not yet. He definitely needs to refine his game in certain areas and get more ice time altogether, but the raw talent and passion to win is absolutely there. He's only a rookie, but when the game is on the line, he is stepping up.

The kid has skill for sure. His pass may have been a better play than his goal.

We are now Fifth in the Metro Division and far away from Pissburgh, who is in the cellar. How sweet it is!!

There was a mini-breakdown on Twitter showing that he makes a fake which 1) puts the goalie into butterfly position, locks him in and 2) makes the defensemen go down, which then allows Michkov to slide the pass to a wide open Tippett

Kid just appears to see everything in slow motion.

I'll say it again for the management in the back, "Lock this kid up long term now!"

He's been pretty physical covering opponents in the D zone. I've always said it's harder on a guy to make a play if their blanketed. But yea I agree also very strongly that our Goalies have been pretty damn solid! Now we need to get the PP working again.

He reminds me of Kimmo and if he can be half as good as him it will be a nice career.

I'm counting Dyrsdale as a sunk cost, because there is no way to evaluate him unless he stays healthy and plays 50+ games.
Man that would really stink if that happens as i would hate to lose Gauthier for relatively nothing.

The amount of hustle dedicated to back checking the last 5 games is incredible. I've never seen a team get back on defense faster than they go up ice on offense for this length of time. We are truly playing Tortorella style on steroids at this point and its really paying off.

I get it, but that's not exactly how it works. The kid is under contract still for 2 more seasons and under team control for at least 6 more seasons. We can sign him to a bridge deal after his 3 year entry level contract and then extend him 8 seasons after that or just extend him 8 seasons right after his entry level deal.

So, you can have 3 contracts and 14 years of Michkov or 2 contracts and 11 years of Michkov, depending on how you arrange it. He would be an UFA at the end of each scenario and could then test the free agent market if he decided to.

Right now, I'm pretty damn sure it's way too early for either party to be discussing the terms of his next contract. We're not going to lose the kid, no worries. He will be a RFA until he has accrued 7 Nhl seasons or is age 27 or older. That's a long way off from now and nobody knows what the franchise will look like then or what position we'll be in. Nobody knows how good he'll be by that point either. Hell, we don't even know what the Nhl cap limit will be at that stage.
