Kluber throws tomorrow morning in Palm Beach Gardens not too far from me...Also not too far from where ol Tony got his first DUI...Think he'll be there to watch? lulz.
The 1st DUI is always the best one.Kluber throws tomorrow morning in Palm Beach Gardens not too far from me...Also not too far from where ol Tony got his first DUI...Think he'll be there to watch? lulz.
sounds like nepotism to me.Shelley Duncan relishing new role with ‘awesome’ White Sox - Chicago Sun-Times
Sounds like a BS job to me. A couple of guys toil away at the data and Duncan goes and tells the batter - don't swing at the high ones. There that's simple.

You should watch out - or I will start listing your intangible values to this forum. He hit .226 for his career. He's Grandal when he retires.
Big brain thinking by our boys.
Double the intangibles...Double the output.
@Jiddy fails to mention Grandahl has a career .350 on base percentage. You have to be on base to advance runners and score runs. BA is a misleading stat.
actually, it isn't. it's a great stat that, like everything else, has a very few small exceptions, which are players that walk a lot. there aren't many of those.@Jiddy fails to mention Grandahl has a career .350 on base percentage. BA doesn't tell you the effectiveness of a batter in scoring or driving in runs. It also doesn't tell you the effectiveness of a batter in getting on base. Other than that - it tells you a lot.actually, it isn't. it's a great stat that, like everything else, has a very few small exceptions, which are players that walk a lot. there aren't many of those.

What me worry?Don't worry...I've got a 60+ game season of experience now to confirm the Grandal is whatever...He isn't horrible...but he isn't top notch either. There's so many other players on our team alone that I would not dare give up before Grandal...Multiply that by the other 29...
i didn't suggest it's the only stat that matters. but if the game is on the line, a runner at second with two outs and down by one run, who do you want up? a guy who hits .230 and walks a lot, or a guy that hits .330?BA doesn't tell you the effectiveness of a batter in scoring or driving in runs. I'll take the guy who hits in the clutch no matter what his BA happens to be, but in general - yes - a higher batting average tells you something. It is the first stat I look for in a player.i didn't suggest it's the only stat that matters. but if the game is on the line, a runner at second with two outs and down by one run, who do you want up? a guy who hits .230 and walks a lot, or a guy that hits .330?
I've been found out! Damnation!Alfred E. Mingo.
