Sounds like a team with one foot nailed to the floor. problems problems problems!!!! The biggest problem is not spending to improve the club. Wonder what Springer would cost? Hope they do not offer Gallo an extension. Chavez and Volquez send packing. Get all possible dead weight gone where possible. No use discussing Oder any longer. He scammed JD beyond belief.

As long as we don’t undervalue in a rush to trade him I think we will
I don't think you have to worry at all about that happening. That is not JD's method of operation. He lives on the other side of that spectrum.

Don’t care. If we’re going youth then trade him but don’t take peanuts in return. Get the best deal you can or don’t trade him. Every GM wants more but you say what you want, they say what they are willing to trade and you meet somewhere in the middle

I think he may have one perhaps two decent years left so a trade is in order if JD can still make a decent one.

What was that that Dandy Don used to say? If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we would all have a merry Christmas.

That didn't last very long, did it?
Nope only one season. In other news Peter Fairbanks strikes out the side and the Rays lead 3-1 going into the stretch

Rays won but Anderson is one lucky dude. Gives us 3 hits and 2 walks in the 9th but the Astros score just one run on a double play ball.

So sad to read about Joe Morgan. Prior to the Rangers coming to town, my brother and I were Reds fans. We continued to follow them even after the Rangers got here. Joe was one of my favorite players back in the 70s.

Oh, yeah. Forgot about him. Remember him well as a kid but I sure hated the Yankees.
Do you remember Luis Arroya his relief pitcher? Back then there were not many relievers like today. If Whitey got in trouble out came Arroya. So many good memories.
We lived in a small country and radio was your only means of getting Baseball. We only got one station and they only broadcast Yankees games. So I was brought up with Mickey Mantle. Unmatched even today.

Well in the mid to late sixties I will confess I was an Astros fan listening to games on the radio in the evening. I remember Joe Morgan well on the Astros and the trade reminiscent of the Prince Fielder trade. They wanted Lee May for a power threat at 1B. History repeats itself. Was a big fan of the Jimmy Wynn and Bob Watson too. Time flies. Remember Dierker too. Side-note. Astros announcers were good and enthusiastic back then Much more than decades later Raymond is over there.
I still rooted for the Astros when they were in the NL although I move to Dallas in 1970 and got to begin rooting for the New Rangers from the get go. Seems like there was dollar seats at the bleachers for my age in th old Arlington stadium.

I wa never a big Joe Morgan fan but yes he was a complete player and professional. He played the game the right way. And DT, some of our younger players would do well to imitate taking what the game gives you vs swinging from your heels.
