Yes that’s what they were trying to do, butttttt All you do is weaken a main character and insult everyone’s intelligence.

The season why Sam Wilson as capt America hasn’t faced the same wrath is because they spent a long time building him up as a potential legacy character and then created a key story to put him in place.

Saw a commercial for this on tv a few days back. Does MM have different powers from PP? They made it seem like he has invisibility and some kind of forcefield (or something).

I just realized they basically made him Sue Storm.

Maybe I am biased because I am black Hispanic but I love the idea of testing the waters. Maybe they saw what a huge hit black panther was so they want to slowly integrate other characters. I think this movie will have a solid success in terms of income.

I think the story would have been better if Peter Parker had gotten to old and married Mary Jane and his powers were passed on to Miles. The alternate universe plot is different to digest.

yeah I never read the comics or really dug deep into marvel or DC characters outside of the movies so im guilty of not keeping up with the latest direction.

He has similar powers... but he was bit from a different spider so he has some different powers than PP... His web shooters are not man made, he has camouflage mode, and he has some kind of electric power too...

But since I never got into MM, I don't know if the similar powers are better or worse than PP...

Usually I'm against just swapping character's races and identities for no reason instead of just creating a new hero *but* the Spider-man I grew up with is very specifically a story about an kid in a big, complex city dealing with adolescence and coming to grips with who he is. A reluctant hero and a role model. I think the race change makes sense.
