it's funny how so many people have issue with popular super hero mantles like Spiderman or Hulk going to other races in some weird twist or story.
The new Hulk being Asian is similar.
I don't keep up with comics that much, but I still think there are a ton of new characters that are coming out...but also they are fictional characters who have been around for decades. I see no problem with tweaking them from time to time to change things up. If you don't it would get boring.Because it’s ridiculous pandering because they can’t create good new characters so they tear down good ones to fill a quota and claim some kind of moral superiority.

How many flashes have there been?? like 5??
There have been 4+ robins
2 batmans
there are so many superheroes who were taken over for a certain amount of time... Why is it different that it is spiderman?? just because the new one is not white??
These aren’t legacy characters. (I assume you mean Batman beyond?)
They’re just throwing out good characters to add “diversity” for the sake of saying they have it.
Well, Dick Grayson took over the mantle too for a while..
But my point is that there have been a lot of rollover in superheroes... having a second spiderman is not out of question... but you seem just very sour because the replacement is not a white boy...
Again. Legacy characters. Grayson was a temporary replacement due to injury.
DC wanted to test the waters.
There’s a reason Bruce is still in the cape and cowl 25 years later
But miles morales is not a replacement... he is an alt universe spiderman... and his story is relatively new, began in 2011... And it is not like Peter parker is "dead"(although he is in Miles Universe)....
how many different universes are there in the superhero world???
again, this is not a new superhero phenomenon...
Supergirl is a perfect example... Superman was the last son of Krypton, but they creatively wrote in supergirl to be a character....
She didn’t replace Superman....
They had a really cool character minority named nighthawk that they ruined by making him a total racist.
And Sam Wilson as captain America has been the best of their pandering options.
She didn't have too... Spiderman is different since he is a low scale hero... He is not a save the world hero... you cant have 2 heroes in one city...
and again, it is not like they killed of peter parker in the universe that we all care about peter parker in... He was killed off in this alt universe created for Miles Morales...
So it really is 2 separate comic stories...
If your problem is that Spiderman is not a legacy superhero, well he is one in this scenario...
Point simply is that this is not new to superhero lore... its just sad, that you are focusing more on the PC, SJW BS than the fact that this happens all the time...
Because that’s what it is, pc sjw bs.
Even the robin example. Dick Grayson wore it briefly after a very long, complex and arguably the greatest Batman story ever.
This was thrown together in 2 seconds.
Also, miles sucks. He’s already gotten 2 books cancelled.
But, um...If you don’t like miles morales because he is a terrible character, I can’t disagree with you. But if that’s why then why harp on the sjw pc bs??
And I will say this comic books are trying to give every people a superhero. It is smart because as a country we have all different type of people. And everyone deserves to see themselves on the tv or comics. Someone who fights for their ideals.
Thing about that is, that the general reader/viewer generally does not read/watch things about other people when they can’t identify with them. So “cheating” is the way to do it. You don’t only get the new audience who will watch/read because they identify with the character, but also they will get loyal Spider-Man audience that reads/watches everything Spider-Man.

But, um...
Marvel book sales are plummeting.
Yup. And the “woke” books especially.
