The Red Sox had the Bambino - so who did the Vikings get rid of to bring their curse?

Great win but it's tough to overlook the fact that the defense allowed a 6th team this season to get into position to win the game again... I'll take it though...
And yet, they held said team to no TD's. I believe now that leaves their away game opponents TDs to "1" in the last 6 weeks. So sure, let's lay this one all on the defense after that offensive barrage of a whole 10 points which seems adequate for some. I'd hope everyone finally realize, FOOTBALL, of all sports, easily represents that the great teams are the sum of all its parts, big or small, and every other sport can succeed on a "playing out of their mind, unconscious, etc. etc. Football is a good metaphor for battlefield strategy.

The defense played a hell of a game. It was the 4th time this season an opponent was held to under 200 total yards. It's just amazing that the defense holds a team to under 10 points (and 6 of those on a short field) and yet the spin is that the defense almost gave the game away. If the offense doesn't wait til the 4th quarter to do anything at all, then the defense isn't even in that position.

It took way too long for bevell to start calling plays that moved russell out of the pocket, they kept leaving him in there to get demolished.

I also think its idiotic to THROW on 3rd down when you are playing the clock. he did it TWICE, this is classic bevell idiocy.

otherwise this was just a tough game, we missed on a few long passes that seemed to hang in the air forever probably due to the cold. baldwin was open for a TD and the ball just never seemed like it was going to get there.

OH BTW, Nothing personal AO, just kinda got nostalgic and philosophical and haven't really recovered from the big vibe I got when blowing off some Big Ass Mortar fireworks and hearing a whole of neighbors doing likewise.

You're a dope... Did I lay this one on the defense? Go read the Vikings/Seahawks thread in the NFL forum never really complained about the Hawks the entire time, especially the defense... Never said anything of the sorts... I posted there instead of reading all the negativity in this thread the entire time... Wanted to actually enjoy the game....

The defense played a hell of a game.

No need to read further... Agree 100%.. But my point was, a team moved down the field on us to put themselves into position to hit a 27 yard FG with 5 seconds left... Our defense didn't play that great on the last drive when it mattered the most... Kam had the PI then Kam was the guy who missed the tackle on Rudolph who then galloped down to the 19...

Defense played great otherwise... I just wonder what this place would look like if they made the FG...

On the other side of the coin, I didn't agree with the play calling on our prior two possessions that had our offense throw the ball on 3rd down, which resulted in incompletions, stopping the clock... That was tough to watch...

If I'm Carroll I'm not giving the ball to Michael and risk that turnover. That's for sure. Short passes or give it on a fly sweep or anything else.

Speaking of Michael, he played very good today considering he didn't get the reps a starting RB would normally get during the week... He also had a key, 3rd down catch for a 14 yard conversion... I thought he played good...

I'd still take a healthy lynch over him every day, all day, without question. And I'd be surprised to not see him back next week.

Who wouldn't but he's done a very good job for us filling in, no? Dude went to 3 teams, castoff, etc and still has produced for us w/out one single TO... Seriously, what more can you ask from the guy? He outperformed AP today too...

Yeah, check out the Are the Seahawks the Luckiest team ever thread. People are genuinely pissed that Seattle would dare to celebrate a playoff victory.

LOL... Didn't NE celebrate their SB victory against us? Brady's head was down on that last play, expecting to lose, and they win... Then he celebrates...

Didn't say he sucked or didn't do what was asked. All I said is if Lynch is available I'd take him in these big moments every time. Maybe Michael has again earned a look next year to make this team, but in the big spotlight on the big stage I'm taking the guy with all the experience and solid ball handling history.

I thought he played well too. Fewer carries than AP yet 50% more yards, but all we heard pre-game was how AP was going to have such a better game than last matchup. He actually got worse in YPC....
