I'll wait to say that. I see the A's where Texas was a few years ago. We built, and then made the move for Lee to go for it all. Didn't work out. Will it for the A's?

Moving Cespy will make it harder to put up runs one would think and now with the addition of Price it's gonna be hard to put up runs against Detroit in the playoffs. Unless you get to Nathan and Soria that is. Detroit should still score runs even against Oakland pitching. Lester is good but I think I still like the matchup of Detroit pitching vs Oakland pitching even with the addition

Gentry and Coco are both hurt as well. They have to rely on Reddick, Moss, and Gomes in the OF now?

How has Colon looked away from O.CO? Congrats Beane...you are the GM for the team that plays in one of the most run suppressive parks in baseball!

Can't really blame Beane or anyone for playing in the park they play in. Yes it's a shitty park but you still have to win in the thing and the A's have done a fine job of fielding really good teams the past few years.

I too think Melvin has done a fabulous job but I'd also like to say and think that what they have had going on the last few years and what they have going on right now is really really good from top to bottom.

that's called going for it. There is not one person that can deny that he has done a better job than JD the past 3 years. He's turned a bunch of no name dudes into a constant contender and one of the best rotations in baseball.

I think JD has had his shortcomings in providing great benches but talent wise on paper the Rangers have always still been pretty darn good with this season being the lone exception because of injuries. I think guys have collectively underperformed the last couple of years particularly on the offensive side which is why this team has struggled.

@JeffWilson_FWST: Kevin Kouzmanoff underwent a second back operation and is out for the season.

It just doesn't stop.

Still want that no. 1 pick but would like to see him now up his average and hit homers. Sure he was effected by all of this.

Sorry Rev. Meant this for Murph's post.

The lack of HR's this year has hurt his value significantly in my opinion, teams are looking at the 4 hr's and wondering if the power continues to decline as do the number of doubles and triples. Decent speed but just avg defensively, not seeing teams wanting to deal much for him especially after he wasn't moved before the deadline

Until Beane's team makes it past the ALDS I don't see how they've accomplished more than the Tigers or Texas has the last 4 seasons.

It probably just stopped for Kevin. Two back surgeries is serious business. Harry and now Kouz. It's hard to overcome. Sad!

Well I was away from my phone for awhile. I expected to come back to some interesting information regarding Rios. This is right in line with the rest of our season.

In their home park that looks even uglier, but they got Sam Fuld for what he's worth defensively for Milone

I did forget they got Fuld. He can fly out there, but his offensive numbers are shit.

Oh I'm not saying they have done more or less than Detroit or Texas. What I am saying is whatever they have done has seemed to work the last couple of years and that's credit to Beane and Melvin & staff for finding those right ingredients and being a really good team.

I was just adding that for posterity I guess. I knew what you were trying to say. I get the appeal of falling in love with that organization for putting out 90 wins on that budget, but 90 wins is hollow when you have no WS to show for it...Ask the Rangers and Rays about that one.

Very surprised that with the number of teams that we're said to be interested that he wasn't moved for at the very minimum a pitching prospect with some value that would at least add depth to the system. Guess he's back next year and talked about daily before the deadline again and not moved again and lost at the end of 15 to FA

Kinda expected more home runs myself especially in this ball park. But if his value decreases more even after this, release him. We are accumulating too many players like that.

It would probably be hard to even read the shit they are spewing over there, like why we didn't trade Roogie straight up for Price

Certainly seems we could get more production for the money than what his option will cost, maybe they save and pass on the team option and make a push for Melky in the offseason

The fundamental flaw in arm chair GMing is not knowing the actual details of the trade and then making "comparable" trades post script. I wouldn't trade Roogie for a rental on Prince anyway knowing how well Roogie has handled himself.
