Ok, they'll need pitching, but wow, these are great moves. And I cannot believe what the Cards and A's gave up...that much for Lackey??? And giving up Cespedes for a rental? I'm shocked!

Cespedes was only in Oakland one more year, then they couldn't afford him.

Yeh they sure might, which makes this even more stunning...I guess I was reading that the A's figured they had little chance of re-signing Cespedes after he opts out after 2015 season, so get what they can for him now, and go for it all this year. Quite an imposing staff for sure, but their offense gets weaker. I still think the Angels catch 'em.

I'm also glad the A's are going all in this year, when we're not a player. Let them play for today, and sacrifice the future, when we're improved again.

Still I applaud the guts of both teams...
