That's bad news for Fisher and while there's a chance he could be back in 4-6 months, it usually takes a full year to recover fully from an ruptured Achilles tendon.

Ouch. Back in 2011/12 Zajac ruptured his in the preseason and didn't return until I believe late March, and even then he didn't look close to 100% until end of April.

This injury to Mike Fisher now opens the door for Vinny to be traded

Even a year after having his Achilles sliced Karlsson was still nowhere close to where he was right before the injury.

A slice is not as bad as a rupture too. Not good for Fisher. Although Fish is a real health nut who puts serious hours in the gym, this will be tough to come back from at age 34.

At 34, coming back from a ruptured achielles and playing at an elite level? Yeahhhh, that's not 4-6 months. 8-12 probably more accurate.

Isn't Fisher the Preds #1 center? If so, who is James Neal going to play with now? lol

/edit, Jokinen, Cullen.

Possibly one of those other guys, but Calle Jarnkrok might get a look too

I tend to agree with you. The only thing that might be in his favour is, as I stated before, that he's gym rat and a REALLY dedicated guy.

But at his age it's going to be really hard to ever get back to top form. Sad. He's an awesome player and a good guy.

Colin Wilson might be front and centre, so to speak. Maybe he finally steps up. He better because those two guys you listed are not even close to #1 Cs anymore.

Just remembered him too, I've said a few times lately that he's due for a breakout season - they need him

Gotta feel for Nashville.

They went from having Spezza and Fisher as their top 2 centres to having neither due to Spezza's rejection of the trade and Fish's injury.

I still think that a request for a trade should trump a NTC.

Right? I mean, isn't a NTC a benefit to both the team and player? Once the player asks to be traded, the team has lost that benefit, just like the player has the second a team asks a player to waive it. I think the only reasonable clauses are of the "ten team list" variety, where a player can name franchises he doesn't want to go. Probably the only thing Nonis has gotten right in the past two years is that those are the only NTC's he's awarded.
