20 PLAYERS ELECT SALARY ARBITRATION

20 file for arbitration, most notably Subban. Tread lightly there Bergy... Don't go all Milbury Vs Salo on Subban.

Interesting that Johansen didn't. For as much as his agent huffs and puffs, I thought for sure they'd try to make it messy. Tells me that they aren't sqaubbling over money, but term as has been reported. Jackets are willing to pay, but want him RFA at the end of the deal. And I don't imagine they'll move Jarmo and JD much on that point.

Either that or they have an offer sheet almost ready to splash.

I hope it's the first thing.

Offer sheet is a much bigger threat for RJ than arbitration

these could be the fun ones

Dallas Stars - Antoine Roussel
Montreal Canadiens - Lars Eller, P.K. Subban
New York Rangers - Chris Kreider, Mats Zuccarello
Pittsburgh Penguins - Nick Spaling <---------- first week with the new team?
Toronto Maple Leafs - Cody Franson, James Reimer

I would almost bet my VFunds that Roussel signs a contract before arbitration.

yeah, most of them will.
I can see Reimer and maybe one of the Ranger guys going the distance

Certainly not Brassard because "Brassard" and "whiny little twat" certainly do not go together.

Doesn't surprise me that it's about term and not money - Jarmo stated at the beginning they'd match anything so money wouldn't be an issue, they want him to end before he gets to UFA, he wants to be able to stay in RFA

STL files for arb on Sobotka...third team-elected one so far, joining Frolik (WIN) and O'Reilly (COL)

Brassard will definitely go the distance, I would even say there's a slight chance the Rangers say screw him and let him go - although there really isn't much alternative out there unless they make a trade

The ones who have done team-elected arbitrations don't make sense - yeah I know there's talk that maybe Ryan O'Reilly should have one more really good season before getting a big contract but he's a key player on that team, same thing with Michael Frolik and Vladimir Sobotka

No way do the Leafs and Reimer agree - Reimer wants to be paid like a starter and the Leafs will present each and every one of his weaknesses in arb. It's going to get ugly.

Especially after not signing Stastny, you'd think they'd just pony up.

I hope nobody cries during their arbitration hearing...

He'll be awarded over $2 million, so they won't be allowed to walk away.

Solid and Larry Brooks in the same sentence? Now I am curious.

Someone hacked his account

Not only that (lol), but whomever did it is stealing sabresfaninthesouth's material...

I know what you — like me, and everyone else — were thinking when the Sharks lost four straight to the Kings after taking a 3-0 lead in the first round of the playoffs: This wouldn’t have happened if John Scott had been in the San Jose lineup.
