That was essentially an NBA trade between the Flyers and Oilers.

Sorry @dash I know nothing about the Flames pick but the numbers seem very good.

It just doesn't give me a good feeling when multiple guys say "He wasn't that high on my board". It reminds me of one of our favorites, Mark Jankowski :D

After watching an interview after the Flames selected him, Matvei seems like a pretty cool guy. He's committed to Michigan and will play for the Wolverines for likely a couple of years, so the jury will be out for a little bit on this selection.

Wow - Tampa sends Sergachief to Utah for a package that includes Geekie and some pick swaps. JJ Moser as well to TB

I would have never considered that Sergachev would be available.

Utah suddenly has a defense. They grab Marino for two picks

Maybe Robin Lehner is coming back.

I laughed when typing that. Not sure why they would want to make that trade.

speaking of "not sure why...",

the Sabres traded down from 11 to 14, gaining an additional 2nd round pick in the 40s.

then they trade that extra pick to Washington for Beck Malenstyn.

My first impression is that he could be considered an above average 4th liner, if you want to be generous.
