Time for a Rondo trade. Best deal would be with Houston.

Rockets get: Rondo, Bass
Celtics get: Canaan, Jones, Daniels, and draft picks

Cavs to trade Keith Bogans to Sixers. Bogans acquired Thursday from Celtics. Will create room for trade exception, ESPN reports.

now the Cavs have a nice little trade exception to get someone at the deadline if they want.....

David Griffen is showing no mercy

No way that gets done. That deal is way too unbalanced.

They are trying to get Hibbert. But it looks like they would give up too much for him.

They are still $20 mil under the salary cap. That is crazy!

They are going to make another big move here soon.

Why not? They have $20 mil sitting there. It would be stupid not to get another defender or rim protector when they have the money on their hand.

I'm confused here. Where do the Cavs have all of this money? I'm fully aware that Irving's new deal hasn't kicked in yet, but the Cavs are sitting at $72 million right now which is over the salary cap.

I am too. They just cleared another $5.6 mil though. Maybe the meant for next year but the source didnmt say next year with the non-guaranteed contracts.

I heard, not sure if true the proposed trade is:

Cavs get: Roy Hibbert

Pacers get: Dion Waiters
Brendan Haywood
1st round pick

Is this even a good option?

Not really. You're better of with Verajo as the starting center as you know what you'll get out of him, night in and night out. You give up depth with Haywood. The 1st round pick will be useless considering where the Cavs will end up in the playoffs (at the least they'll go to the ECF). Plus, who's your 2-guard in the starting lineup if Waiters is traded? Mike Miller?

Exactly they have no depth at the 2. Waiters could be key, the kid can score. I would not want to give up Waiters for an unreliable big man or really anyone. He could be a key piece.

havent looked much into their salary situation. but are they counting on kevin love or lebron taking less next season? seems to me 3 max players would eliminate future contracts for players like waiters.

Nope.

Their recent trade can open up 16mil in cap space, via trade, this Season or Next.

So, expect them to stack the deck even higher.

guess im not seeing it. kyrie will make more than 7 mil next season i assume. what will love ask for? depending on how far they advance in playoffs i question if love will even resign. verbal agreements dont mean much in the offseason. especially the year before. so lebron 20 mil per, kevin love around the same..thats 40 tied up to 2 players. kyrie set to make near 10 next season. ill admit im not much of a salary cap cruncher. but roughly 50 mil. in 3 players. leaves 13 for the rest of the team. am i wrong?

They forwarded Bogans on to Philly for a trade exception. So they'll have about $11mil in non-guaranteed contracts for next season.

The Cavs will face some issues next summer reloading, assuming Lebron and Love and resign. Their current player options for next season are $21.6mil and $16.7mil, respectively. If they take the options, the Cavs have $53.8mil committed to their big 3. Thompson has a qualifying offer of $6.8mil. Waiters has a team option of $5.1mil. The Cavs will have some work to do.

I saw that. Although Cleveland has to address the fact that Tristan Thompson and Waiters are about to come off of their rookie deals (Waiters has a qualifying offer for 16/17, while Thompson's kicks in next year).
