Normally, that’s a pretty good ranking, which is based off of votes from NFL players. But for Brady, who had never landed outside the top four since the NFL Top 100 first started airing on NFL Network in 2011, sixth-best represents a step backward.
Brady finished as the league’s No. 1 player in the past two seasons and dropped , finishing at the third-best quarterback in the poll behind MVP Patrick Mahomes (No. 4) and Drew Brees (No. 2).

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who Brady faced in Super Bowl LIII, finished at the No. 1 player.

Brady was one of four Patriots players featured in the 2019 NFL Top 100, along with wide receiver Julian Edelman (No. 90), safety Devin McCourty (No. 89), and cornerback Stephon Gilmore (No. 22).

Here’s the full top 10 as revealed Wednesday:

10. Von Miller, LB, Denver Broncos

9. Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons

8. Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers

7. Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (not on Oakland Raiders)

6. Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots

5. Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles rams

4. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

3. Khalil Mack, LB, Chicago Bears

2. Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints

1. Aaron Donald, DT, Los Angeles Rams

Brady, who turns 42 on Aug. 3, was the oldest player featured on the list. He’s set to enter the 2019 season as the oldest position player in the NFL.

Media just keeps adding fuel to his fire.

Instead of JE11 yelling at him being too old this year it will be you're # 6 and too old. But this won't be used until the playoffs or SB. No sense wasting it during the regular season.

How the hell is AR #8?

Brees at 2 is a head scratcher. I really just don't get it.

Also, Antonio Brown is not the best WR in the NFL lolzz

I don't see him there either, but NFL players....not really a smart bunch.

Actually...nothing laughable about that at all. He's a me-first clown, but when he plays, he's as good as anybody and still my #1 guy.

Aren't these things based on what the player will be this year? Down the stretch, Brees looked like someone whose age might be catching up to him.

not sure, because they list antonio brown and clearly state "not in oakland", so i assume its last year going into this year. meaning brown, if on pitt, would be where he is. but hes on oakland, thus the qualifier.

I would imagine his peers are impressed that he was still able to get solid numbers while playing as hurt as he was but he wont get the same benefit of the doubt this year if he doesnt play better.

OK....I didn't watch any of the segments, but I figured since it's 'Top 100 for 2019' or something like that, I assumed it meant they were projecting.

I'm not saying he is a slacker. Right now I have Julio and DeAndre above him

Both 18 and 19, Gronk would have been #55 but because he retired, he fell off the list

That's what I thought, based on this upcoming year. New team for Brown, will still be elite. I will take Hopkins and Julio over him but that doesn't seem to be the case

Changing teams may affect his production statistically, but as a player/talent, I believe he's still #1. I don't have any issues if you believe JJ and DH are better, but I don't think it's laughable to believe otherwise.

So it is projecting for the upcoming season. Not that it matters too much either way. I still wonder about Brees, the way he finished last season and if he's at the end.
