For the love of Gawd.

JD, take Wash aside. Please tell him to take our once beloved (I still love the guy) Murph and glue him to the bench....
or else.

Almost September and he refuses to give Gentry the regular start...I want the speed as well.

If someone can posts some stats that Murph has been on fire for the last...10-15 days.
I'm not looking it up, but I highly doubt it
how about OBP, I can't believe Gentry's isn't higher

Meh....

Murphy
Last 7 days 10AB 2H .200 .200 .200 .400
Last 14 days 24AB 5H .208 .208 .292 .500
Last 28 days 50AB 9H .180 .268 .280 .548

Gentry
Last 7 days 13AB 3H .231 .375 .308 .683
Last 14 days 25AB 7H .280 .438 .480 .918
Last 28 days 47AB 14H .298 .441 .404 .845

Murphy's were predominantly against RH pitchers, Gentry against LH pitchers. But most would contend that Murphy's 'success' against RHP is so insignificant that Gentry would just have to forget to go out for his turn at bat for the overall impact of playing Gentry both ways to be a detriment.

Damn. Is that right? My apologies. I stand corrected (again). So after 2016, if he wins one, he can't opt out? Good info. Did you know this or look it up?

I remember it when they inked the deal.

Problem is, which outfielder gets dropped from the postseason roster. Since JD makes that call it better be Murphy and we better keep gentry.

Can't imagine it wouldn't be Murphy. Gentry in the post season can do so much; late defense - even early defense - and his speed on the bases can make a huge difference. Don't ya think?

The OBP disparity is what really infuriates me.

As I was sayng. Trust in JD. :suds:

you were right, I was just nervous.
Ya know, he's kinda hinting "we're not going to do this, that" I'm thinking, season over.

He rightfully, and typically keeps it close to the chest.

That's unquestionably the correct move. Thankfully it's not in wash's hands, though I'm sure he'll do plenty of lobbying.

When it comes to deals and trades you can never trust the words coming out of John Daniels mouth.

I just don't understand why the front office allow this to continue to happen.

I'm not kidding about JD interferring with the line-up...in this matter.

And I don't want to be lectured on... you let the Manager write it. I agree.
But not in this extreme situation.

We need every mother-loving base we can get in this race....and quite obviously that points to Murphy sitting.

For all ya'll out side the dfw viewing area, Cruz was at the RBPIA taking batting practice. He has to leave before the fans start arriving. FYI

I did read that. He will be heading back down to AZ. JD was hoping to get some of better minor league pitchers to pitch to him. But JD was non committal about Cruz on the playoff roster.

Nope ... I believe TEX will carry 5OF. With 13 position players ...

C (2): AJ, Soto
IF (6): Moreland, Kinsler, Beltre, Andrus, Baker, Profar
OF (5): Martin, Gentry, Rios, Cruz, Murphy

SP (4): Darvish, Holland, Garza, Perez
RP (7): Nathan, Cotts, Ross, Scheppers, Frasor, Soria, Feliz

#25: Berkman (DH) or Ogando or Blackley

The problem with that is if you give wash Murphy he will use him. I honestly believe that had to be taken our of his hands.

Actually the contract includes a player opt out of the sixth year if he wins a cy young.

Thanks-thought something kicked in just glad it is not for a while. Bowden said win-loss was not as important to the voters. That with run support Yu would have a much better record. Much like when King Felix won.

But if he chooses Murphy then he doesn't get both Ogando and Berkman. Has to pick who contributes the most. If you make the choice between Murphy and Berkman or Murphy and Ogando ... I think you go with the latter.

Wash has said ... had Gentry not run through a wall and broke his wrist he would have been on the 2010 post season roster. Beltre and Kinsler together might knock on Wash' door if he were to put Murphy on the roster over Gentry. "Skipper ... we don't think that's in the best interest of anyone".

JD could take it out of Wash' hands ... and then Wash will just wash his hands and say Insha'Allah
