Just a friendly reminder for anyone still giving a fuck that spring training is fast approaching. Pitchers and catchers sometimes mid-feb and the first spring training game is feb 24.

All they’ve done this off-season is subtract, lectured the fans, and told us to be patient.

What a fucking dud.

I am just curious to see how many on air personalities will be let go. Will they call games from a screen at T-Mobile for roads games like Blazers tried doing last year? Personally I don't care at this point. When my upgraded xfinity expires in a couple months I will go back to the regular subscription I had before. Blazers suck and Mariners don't deserve my money, anyones money.
Yeah no idea. It seems they shouldn’t need to make many cuts if the personalities are willing to take a pay cut. The on air people can supplement their lost income by doing regular spots on local and national radio show/podcasts, just the Mariners would have loosen the reigns on what they’re allowed to say. A lot of the production and behind the scenes guys wouldn’t necessarily have to take pay cuts but would have to produce more. I mean that’s the ideal way but who knows with the corporate way the Mariners work because so far it seems they are only talking about cutting salaries from Root and the Mariners payroll, not cutting salaries from the front office or coaching staff. I am still not sure what exactly what Catie Griggs does. Supposedly there is a business issue but they are supposedly cutting from the baseball side.

I think that is the feeling of alot of people. And why I asked how could they turn it around cause I cant imagine 500k will upgrade/renew/go to cable with the ill will the front office has created plus the Mariners are asking fans to sign up for Xfinity after portraying them as the big bad corporation.

At least this year, MLB is doing something good by having the top prospects games. But it’s kind of the catch 22. Their game full of all of their current top prospects would be exciting watch, but if all of those guys are still in the organization then the big club ceiling is 85 wins.

Nope, I don't want Rhys Hopkins either. Why? If they throw money at Hopkins, they may as well re-sign Teo. Same three-outcome player and I doubt if the cost will be much different.
Giants seems like the landing spot which is good.

I still think they sign 3 bats. Nothing of greatness.

1- Garver
2- T. Anderson
3- Merrifield

I think they go for cheap, versatile vets to fill out the roster. They may add a couple RP's on the cheap that they can fix then deal at the break.
I do like Merrifield. Has some pop and can steal bases. Bats .272
Pass on Anderson. He's washed
Mitch Garver would be a solid pickup. Has pop and a good .270 avg

I don't want any of them myself. I just think that is who they sign. Low end, cheap additions.

I just watched a MLB video that says Cubs are hard after Hoskins but Mariners are right there with them and the longer it goes the more likely it will be the M's. California kid and M's have ST in AZ give them the advantage. SF has the bigger advantage for both those reasons but not sure if they are hard after him per that video.

Garver had 19 HR's on 80 hits which is pretty good. 2 or 3yr deal
Merrifield I think could prosper in T Mobile park. Big park with his speed could net many extra base hits. A 2 or 3yr deal would work

Let the Cubs have him. If Seattle is letting guys go who have a high K rate, he's the wrong guy to have plus he's coming off major injury.
