So I am still confused about the timeline.

Pre-offseason: We will add payroll
Offseason: Traded Suarez to free up money
Then: Trade Trio to add payroll flexibility
Then: Servais says players text him and he told them they will be really happy about the players (plural I heard) that are coming here.
Then: 'crickets'

I know it is 'still early', but what happened to the guys Servais was talking about? They change their minds? They never existed?

And it seems really ass backwards that they traded players away to be able to afford a trade. A free agent that you have in writing ok. Or if you are the Braves and you have trades for Marco and White already lined up. But now that the Mariners are desperate, why would any of the teams not demand.
