Ownership has transparently shown it every single moment of every season and offseason for 20 years and the sad reality is that most baseball "fans" up here just continue to happily consume the same shit on a new platter over and over and over and attack anybody who doesn't buy into it. Ownership will market the fluke 2022 playoff appearance for the next 2 decades and Julio for the next decade as well. It's a formula that has worked well since the 2001 with signing lesser marquee players than Julio while going through the motions of building a contender, so what incentive is there for them to change their approach?
