This is really asinine, IMO.

First of all, from Garrett's perspective, it should be a big issue since it could have a significant impact on whether or not he will be the HC beyond the 2019 season. If I were him, I would be raising all kinds of objections to an unproven, inexperienced OC in the final year of my contract when I have to demonstrate that my system is working by progressing in the playoffs. That he isn't objecting tells me that he's fine with it because he's basically going to just be running Garrett's offense, which is too predictable and stale.

Secondly, from Jerry's perspective, it should be an even bigger issue because he's dying to get a SB win without it being Jimmy's team. He isn't that far from having that. With continued draft success and a few experienced, proven players taken in free agency, we are just a year or two from being just that. Throw in an unproven, inexperienced OC it could set this team back just enough for us to start losing the players we have through free agency in just a couple of years.

Sure, we're Cowboys fans, and we will cheer for our team and hope that things work out as Jerry arranges them. None of us on the Hoop are going to not pull for Kellen to be the next big OC. Experience teaches us, though, that these kinds of maneuvers are precisely why we are going on a three decade drought to even make it to the SB.

As PDay is wont to say: Till death do us part.

So what if we don't actually even name an OC right now? Maybe we promote both Moore (passing game coordinator) and Nussmeier (run game coordinator) and let Garrett get a feel for which has more potential for a while. Maybe Garrett calls plays this year and if it goes South they are all gone anyway and if one steps up maybe he starts to call plays or even formally gets the OC position later this year or maybe next season. Also, maybe Richard gets the Assistant HC title to keep him around. If all the moves are in house and they are all under contract there is no reason to rush anything. Make these guys prove themselves first and figure it out after everything becomes clearer...

I am slowly warming up to the thought of Kellen being the OC and play caller. I was so sick a vanillahan being the play caller. I think Kellen is going be able to tweak things and has the intelligence to actually add new plays

I am not expecting a miracle or a top 5 offense, but barring a slew of injuries I see the potential for the offense to score many more points than they did this past season.

We already know that dak was starting to actually click with Gallup and the young tight ends towards the end of the season. If frederick returns 100 percent and William's gains weight or moves to RT I see the offense being much more dynamic.
I hope to see this lineup for the OL:
LT Smith
LG Collins
C Frederick
RG Martin
RT Williams

Heres hoping Moore is the next big thing. BSU was known for imaginative playcalling, hopefully some of that rubbed off

I almost started to get excited over this and then I remembered Chip Kelly and how he was going to bring that exciting, imaginative College Offense to the NFL

Anybody notice how similar JG looks to JJ? It's eerie, actually.

Great debut at the Pro Bowl...Zeke, Saquon, Kamara, Russell Wilson, playing against a half hearted defense....7 points, 148 yards:L

I turned this game on and the lack of effort was disgusting they just need to cancel the game. It is not entertaining.

I agree. I’m usually a Pro Bowl watcher. Zeke got touched yesterday and they blew the whistle. Need to do away with that.

So does the Moore experiment at the Pro Bowl give Dallas pause at naming him the OC?

No, we have better players. How could he be expected to do anything with those horrible Pro Bowl players...

Tough to get a read on Romo with the Cowboys. He had some other comments this week that came off a little dicky or maybe even as sour grapes. Who knows maybe just a frustrated ex-player that just wants the best for his team. This particular comment if you don't read anything into it and just read it as "factual" seems pretty level headed and probably exactly what we are all thinking. Staying pretty similar can mean a lot of things - the types of plays, patterns, blocking scheme, etc. It's not necessarily negative

I thought him and JG patched things up. I know they didn’t speak much after the 16 season.

Then again maybe not. I don’t think this is a shot at Moore though.
