I am a firm believer that Duvall is one of the most over-rated players in the game.

That trade probably would have been too steep for my liking, but Duvall checks just about all the boxes for the Giants. Right-handed power, good defensive OFer, long-term control cheaply.

But he doesn’t have a starting players bat. All his numbers are grossly distorted by the GAB.

IDK about "grossly." The park metrics suggest he's been right around league average with the bat (99 OPS+ last 4 years, 103 OPS+ in best years. 97 wRC+ last 4 years, 101 wRC+ in best years), and his actual numbers are better on the road than at home over his career. Duvall is a flyball pull guy, his power shouldn't be sapped too much at AT&T (where he has 6 homers in 28 games).

I guess we'll see now that he's in a more fair division in terms of park factors.
