It is very difficult for the QB to shine when the play calling is so vanilla and the defense can read it so easily.

"But we’re kind of playing from behind, what I said was about throwing it deeper than the short game… I felt like we needed chunk plays.”

2nd WORST Red Zone offense next to only the Broncos!!!

Anyone see late in the 4th quarter when Mac is scrambling for his life (going back what 20-30 yards) the OL are just freaking STANDING there WATCHING him! Meanwhile Mac has about 4 defenders in his face and NO one comes to try and block them! WTF!
It was hard to notice this since their helmets were on, but they were all chanting "Zappe, Zappe"....

Think he is actually responsible for play calling and O-line, with zero experience in either role. Mind boggling.
This was the argument when he was slotted for those positions.

Yeah, I know. Hard to believe BB is sticking to his guns with such a bad decision. Patricia is so bad that any immediate replacement with any available coach would be an improvement. Give him some minor role in the shadows, maybe official pencil sharpener or something.

Agreed I have suggested he be the official raviloi taster and that he press the uniforms of the cheerleaders. I am comfortable adding pencil sharpener to the list

Look at the way he dresses. He has about as much experience with an iron as, ummm, play calling and OL coaching.

But when you need 8 yards and the play call is a 5 yard hook...WTF?
Even Al Michaels asked that exact same question last night after Mac threw a pass to Parkers, over his head two feet inside the first down marker. Instead of throwing the ball to a wide open Jonnu Smith

Yep, haha, so many useful things he can do.

After 22 years, we all should know that once BB makes a decision, no matter how bad it is, he will never back away from especially if the fans and media call him out and he knows that it's bad. Ego? Superiority complex? It's always the way he does things. Now that he's crossed into his 70s, he be even more bullheaded because he won't want to hear that he's wrong AND he's getting old.

Believe me, when you reach 70, the last word you want to hear is "old". BB is like 80% of us men who are over 70. He's trying to prove to himself that age is just a number and doesn't apply to him. Problem is that none of us are the same man that we were twenty years ago. We're slower, pain is more prevalent and we just plain don't want to change. As sharp as you may feel and as up to date as you may think you are, change is the one thing that is constant and we just can't stay up with all of it. Sadly, Bill is starting to fall behind.

I honestly am questioning how smart BB is now since this is the case

I've always been a Belichick backer. Him and Brady were a match made in Heaven. The Patriots were the model team for a long time. But Belichicks record without Brady isn't great. 8 seasons and only 2 with winning records. 64-77 without the Goat as his starter. It's mediocre. He's 70 years old. Just like players hitting that wall and declining physically... there has to be a point mentality it happens also. He is the coach..GM.. everything. All these decisions are on him. I'm grateful for everything he has accomplished. Always will be. But maybe it's time for fresh blood and new ideas.

I shut it off at halftime because the eventual outcome was about as predictable as the sun rising in the east.

I don't mind losing but these losses are just excruciatingly painful and are getting really difficult to watch.

We played well against the JESTS but then suck and egg. Zero consistency.
