Though most were expected there are a few surprises on the list.

RB David Wilson Virginia Tech
WR Mohamed Sanu Rutgers
LB Luke Kuechly Boston College
CB Trumaine Johnson Montana

Clearly, the Bengals are looking first at areas of need when it comes to their precious workout invites before taking glances at players at other positions who could be good fits, if not must-haves.

At least this gives a clear indication of just what positions Cincinnati is prioritizing in this year's draft—receiver, running back, linebacker and cornerback. Nothing surprising, to be sure, but expect more visits from draft prospects at those four positions in the coming weeks.

None of those 4 were surprises.

Really? Linebacker isn't a surprise? And Trumaine Johnson over the higher ranked Janoris Jenkins, Dre Kirkpatrick and Stephon Gilmore? Lol.... dude, you'll argue about anything.

Lol you know just because they visited Johnson doesn't mean they aren't visiting the others. Are you serious? Lol. And yeah the LB'ers, expecially Maualuga weren't very good, of course they will visit with a prospect like Kuechly. That is how the draft works. For a "draft expert" you don't act like you know shit about it.

Kuechly is a beast and Rey might be suspended. Seems pretty natural and I hope we take him if he's there at 17. I guess Johnson might be a surprise.

I'd love Kuelchy at 17 but dont think he gets past the early teens. I wouldnt look too much into the visits. I remember when they drafted David Pollack he said that he had never spoke to anyone from the Bengals. Seem to remember a couple other guys saying that they didnt even know the team was interested in them.

Would have zero issues with drafting that kid at LB if he's there at 17 and drafting the next best Guard at 21.

The kid can flat out play, and the Bengals need real, true talent at LB and for depth at LB. Moch is an unknown, and is more of a pass-rush specialist than an every down player. Skuta has played well when he's been in there, and is a decent fill in, but there's no true talent at LB outside of the starters (and you can argue a lack of talent with some of the starters, too).

Where is Sanu projected to go right now? Now that kid would be a beast of a #2 WR, and one heck of a red-zone target.

I found this list online of all the draftee visits to their prospective teams. I had another mock set up but after reading this list and seeing certain teams hadn't brought in the players I had going to them I'm going to re-do it and start over from scratch. Here is the list of draftees the Bengals have brought in thus far.

excerpt~

Cincinnati Bengals

LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers (4/6).

*Bethune-Cookman linebacker Ryan Davis (4/6).

Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd (4/?).

Slippery Rock receiver Devin Goda (3/?).

*Montana defensive back Trumaine Johnson (4/?).

Wisconsin center Peter Konz (4/?).

Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly (3/24).

+California defensive end Ernest Owusu (3/18, 4/?).

Alabama defensive end Courtney Upshaw (4/4).

*Virginia Tech running back David Wilson (?/?).

Yeah, but you can't just base it on who they brought in for visits. They likely didn't need to bring in DeCastro, Keuchley, Gilmore etc to know how good they were.

Yeah, but for some teams draft visits are true indicators of who they plan to draft. Case and point in the mock I just created I had Dallas selecting Memphis DT Dontari Poe but Dallas hasn't brought him in for a visit. Since 2006 every player they eventually selected were brought in for a pre draft visit and workout so it appears he's not in their plans. So to me it looks like the pick appears to be safety Mark Barron, the player I had being selected by them in my mock 3.0.

excerpt~

Though the Cowboys did not pick until the third round of the 2009 draft, the team has used six first round picks since 2006. Those players -- OT Tyron Smith, WR Dez Bryant, RB Felix Jones, CB Mike Jenkins, OLB Anthony Spencer and OLB Bobby Carpenter -- were each invited to tour Dallas' facility.

So who does Dallas appear to be interested in this year? Well, despite what you may have read the team did not invite Memphis DT Dontari Poe, Stanford OG David DeCastro or Stanford TE Coby Fleener to the facility. League sources have linked each of the three over the past few weeks to the Cowboys.

Among the players who have visited Dallas to meet with the Cowboys' top brass, however, include six stars from the SEC: a trio of players from Alabama (S Mark Barron, CB 'Dre Kirkpatrick, OLB Courtney Upshaw), as well as Mississippi State DT Fletcher Cox, South Carolina CB Stephon Gilmore and Georgia OL Cordy Glenn.
