Utter and complete domination vs the best offense in league history. Any freaking questions!~?!?!?!?!?!?
Dude, seriously stop with all the threads.

I understand your view but disagree. The rules have changed since the heavily favoring offenses and this defense became the first since 85 to lead the league in points, yards, and turnovers. Then they totally dominated the best offense in league History against one of the best qb's ever. Sorry, but I say this one over all since 85 and I see no argument that would chance my mind.
I don't want to change your mind, but saying there is no debate on the topic is completely off the mark. Now...if you said there is no debate on the topic among your fellow Seahawks fans, I would tend to agree.
Doomsday defense was the best, if I remember correctly.
Then the 2000 Ravens.
By that logic nothing is ever beyond debate as people online debate even the debateless.
I said I understand why your fans might not agree and I'm fine with it. I would say it won't be just our fans thinking that though. Lots of the so called experts are agreeing. Yes they don't matter, but it isn't entirely a Homer thing.
Everyone is always looking to label something the "best ever" when it happens. It was the same with TB in '02. We'll see how the perception holds up. Only time will tell.
It was certainly a great performance.
I think a few were better such as the 85 Bears, 00 Ravens, etc, but I think they are definitely a top 10 and maybe top 5 that I have seen.
Thoughts?
Just as you have to have an * next to 'greatest offense in hisotry' for Denver this year because we are in the era of big offense and rules that limit defense, so too does defenses of this time need to have their stats appropriately adjusted to match the prior eras as doing it now is so much harder.
That number 1 offense of all time:
Pass protection that was said to be the best in the league - DESTROYED
Running game people told us was balanced and would be effective - DESTROYED
Crossing routes that were going to wreck our LB's - DE-FUCKING-STROYED (Kam should have been MVP)
Down field passing game - DESTROYED
One of the top QB's in history - LEFT FOR DEAD
Screen passing? lol - DESTROYED
That was one of the top 5 SB performances of all time and it was again Peyton freaking Manning and that top offense IN THE ERA OF DEFENSELESS PLAYER PENALTIES.
To me it is case closed. Best ever defense? No way and I doubt anyone is suggesting it. 85' bears and the steel curtain are among those you would put higher. Best in the modern era? YES. Regular season they pwned. In the post season they DESTROYED Brees (for the second time this year) who is a HOF and prior SB winning QB, then beat their most heated rivals, and end the season with a storied beat down of the supposed best offense in history.
Where is the case to not list them as best in this era? I don't see it.
You're kidding right??? Top ten?? did you mean in this era only???If not there are quite a number of defenses better. To name a few....the 1976 Jack Tatum Raiders, The 1980's Ronnie lot 49ers, 1991 Washington team, 1972 The Killer Bees, 1975 Fearsome Foursome, 1962 GB Packers, 2002 TB Bucs, 1977 Doomsday, 1971 Purple people eaters,1976 Steel Curtain, 1990 LT's Giants, 1969 KC Chiefs, 2000 Ravens, 1985 Bears,
Statistically the Hawks are middle of the pack for recent #1 defenses. Not sure where the case for best of all time is coming from. Just enjoy the Super Bowl win.

85 Bears won 15-1 season games
2013 Seahawks went 13-3 = not great enough
