The early part of this schedule with 4 road games out of the first 6 will be a bit brutal. I think if the Broncos can be 3-3 after that stretch then they have a really good shot at 10-11 wins. They should have a win against Tennessee (although week 1 can be a bit fluky). Jets is another. So getting one against the Chargers, Bengals, Colts, or Eagles I think is very possible. If they can be 4-2 then watch out. I think at that point division is possible.
They have to be able to go on the road and beat the colts in week 2. The Colts aren't a contender with a really questionable QB scenario. In order to be considered a real contender they also need to take one from the Bengals at home in primetime as well. I expect the Bengals offense to be legit as usual, but their defense is super suspect. Nix and CO need to take advantage. 3 and 3 would be fine, but 4-2 is much better with road games remaining against Texans, Commanders, Chief's along with a lot of division games which are always a craps shoot.

Initially I can see 11-6 which I think is the minimum necessary to get into the post season.

I would agree. I also like that we are catching the Bengals earlier in the season rather than later. They seem to have slow starts so could get a nice win at home and have a nice advantage over them. I'm also interested if they do not get Hendrickson signed to a long-term deal if he sits out the first part of the season as a showing to the organization he is not ok with this.

And agree on the Colts. They shouldn't be a contender this year. I think Richardson has shown he is not mentally able to handle the NFL level of QB. Hopefully us having more of a run game this time around makes it where that game isn't as close as it was last time.

This thread is actually the 2024 thread and has evolved into a 2025 thread!

Those first 4 games are all great opportunities for this still up and coming Broncos team.

Week 1 vs Titans: The Broncos are a good team and I expect a good team to do what good teams do to rookies making their first start. I don't expect a blowout win here, but it is week 1 so who knows. I do expect the Broncos to win.

Week 2 @ Colts: I'll just echo what has already been said. It's the Broncos first road game of the season so that is another factor. But again, good teams can take the show on the road.

Week 3 @ Chargers: This is a winnable game despite the Chargers getting 2 wins on us last year. I am not convinced they are so much better than the Broncos that we all should pencil in a projected loss here.

Week 4 vs Bengals: I also agree it's better to get this team early than late. It's a whole different season and we may all feel differently heading into this one. The Bengals are again looking like they're going to be a top 5 offense, but I think their defense may have a lot of room for improvement. Plus I also expect our defense to step up on the prime time stage.

There is never a lock against another NFL team, so I won't say any of these are a sure thing. But these are all 4 winnable games so a 4-0 start is not out of the question.

I'm honestly more nervous for the Chargers game than I am the Bengals game at this time. That Bengals defense now that we might have a little bit of a run game should make it where our offense at home can control the clock a little more and hopefully the added weapons will make a huge difference.

Plus like you said our defense is at a different level now compared to last year. I wonder how much different that game looks if Moss is actually healthy and not getting destroyed throughout that one.

Chargers game I'm hoping our revamped secondary doesn't allow Herbert just to pick us apart with all the short quick throws underneath. Having LB's that can cover and a slot CB that maybe can help limit McConkey will be huge.

I am always more nervous about games with AFC West rivals than any other games. From there it's conference games, and then the non-conference games. So while every game is important, the game with the Bengals for example is not as important as any of the games with the Raiders, Chiefs, and Chargers but more important than the game with the Eagles. Tie breakers make a big difference in making the playoffs and seeding among playoff teams. If someone told me I could pick the W-L for the Broncos and I was limited to 12 wins and 5 losses I wouldn't even have to think about it. Sweep the AFC slate and let the 5 losses all be against the NFC teams. Until the Super Bowl, of course!

This is why I'm not sweating the game with the Eagles. I think our team is still an up and coming team and a chance to play the champs in their house is actually a good thing. Also the tilt with the Redskins makes for a compelling storyline as far as rating go but as far is importance it is among the 5 least important games on the schedule. Same with the Packers and Cowboys. I always love playing these two epic legacy franchises because the Broncos are right there with them as far as legacy goes. But they are not the most important games on the schedule.
