Our lefty relievers were a joke yesterday. 7 ER in 2.1 innings. I guess Alvarez is no better solution than Phil Coke, sad to say. I wish DD had gone after another lefty reliever at the deadline. Perhaps no one was nibbling at what little farm system bait he had left after the two other deals.

as long as we dont play oakland in a series. The A's showed Detroit that heart wins over a big payroll. Getting owned at home is just sad. Hopefully they will decide to play defense tommrow and hit in the clutch.

Um.....we beat oakland when it counted last year.......and in 06.......not worried about losing a regular season series. But dam....in one game you were able to get on ajax, iggy, prince, and dirks.....and i havent finished reading the rest. As for the Tigers shitting the bed at home it would have been a greater concern if Cleveland had done well in Atlanta. As it is Detroit will need to think about this one as the A's could be an opponent in the playoffs.

I still am thinking Vmart Prince flip flop in the order would help as it would keep teams from righty lefty after walking Miggy. But Leyland sticks to his thoughts regardless.

If it weren't for his defense, I would want Dirks DFA'd effective immediately.. He is trash at the plate.. And this is probably the worst series of the year for the Tigers.. Home or Away, worse than the series at the Angels earlier in the season IMO..

All four Tiger starters got clobbered this series. In retrospect, Verlander's 5 IP / 3 ER performance was the best of the bunch.

Of bigger concern, Miguel Cabrera left the game with an apparent hamstring injury. Those can linger for a long time. Let's hope it isn't serious.

Penya dropped the ball give one run. Kelly didn't play the ball right. Fundamentals of the game. The basic do and dknts of the game.
