Jason Kubel gets DFA.

He is not hitting that great right now but could be insurance against Dirks forgetting how to hit. Bats left and had some good years with the Twins.

I'm not a fan of Kubel or Cuddeyer......I would much rather see Nick.....JV looking horrible......I bet in the offseason there will be talk about whether or not he still has it.......I think it's more about the contract then anything else, But guys like JV won't take kindly to all the bad talk during the offseason and focus more on trying to stay on top.

If I had to guess, he got his contract and didn't take his offseason conditioning serioulsy.......Hence a mediocre JV......That will play on his mind all offseason, He has a ego and that won't happen again in 2014.

Good call on not going tonight. Not much fun to sit out in the rain. Ill put a little on the game for ya tomorrow burf. Put a little on tonight, us giving 1.5, I've got my fingers crossed.

I agree.....its frustrating, but he could go out and throw a no no the next start. He gets 2 strikes and then cant seem to finish them off....countless foul balls, until they work it to 3-2.....once he gives up a few runs....he mows them down. We tie it or take the lead....and he blows it....im confused with him this year....he definitely should start game 3 in the playoffs unless he turns it around.

I think the more concerning issue is the BP woes the last two days.. That has done the Tigers in more than the starting pitching... A's have done a good job of making the pitchers throw pitches.. Have to give credit where credit is due..

JV signed the contract extension at the end of March ... well after his offseason conditioning was done. While I think he's experienced some pressure to "live up" to the contract, there's no questioning his heart (or his ego, as you stated).
