Detroit Tigers Ongoing 2013 Thread

happy for the win but it was luck. defense gave up 4 runs on bad plays. offense left 3 runs on with bad hitting. We were lucky to win that one. Tigers cant expect to play like this in the playoffs and win. This series with the indians in critical as we have to sweep or only lose one game. Sweep we basically punch the ticket for ourself. We cant let the Indians have a sniff that its possible. So sweep them.

Anytime you come back from 5 down in the last few innings luck is involved... But luck got the a's countless bloop singles also... If it was bad pitching... Every starter would not have been knocked around... Tigers just caught the A's when their lineup got hot... It happens... Rarely will you see a team do what the A's did to a starting rotations top guys from one of the top rotations... Tigers need to win the Indians series... But not must win.

Luck is involved most of the time in baseball. It wasnt like we were playing the astros.....we were playing one of the most pesky teams.....but dam aaron, you threw almost every tiger under the semi truck over one series....they just came off a sweep...all they have to do is make the playoffs, then its all a crap shoot....hottest team wins....records are out the window.

I was watching the game on tv... was about to change the channel out of frustration but didn't... Glad i kept it on... Great moment when the hr was hit.

Watch out for the Royals.. They look hot again.

The Tigers do not have to fear the Royals, but perhaps Cleveland does. Cleveland in Detroit for 3, while KC plays a Toronto team that has lost 8 of 11, and even managed to lose a series to the Astros. Cleveland could be tied with or looking up at KC by Monday.

And I agree with Vice ... unless it's a Cleveland sweep, this series in Detroit won't mean much because the Indians don't face us again this season.

I disagree. A loss in August is just a loss. OAK is likely to have to win a one-game playoff to even get to DET.

Embarrassing? Only if you measure the effort of DET vs OAK but they are fighting for their playoff lives and DET is in a fairly safe position.

Aaron i think you get a bit too emotional over every tigers "miscue". How about some positive comments..the team is in first place and yes players like verlander, fielder and whoever else you ra on did in fact contribute to that believe it or not.
