That was one crazy place Sunday....the dog days on display. ..I have said many times before this is a special team...

The '13 Tigers will be a group we look back on for sure. Absolutely a special team.

No one should have expected much from alvarez, hes never been anything special and if anything it was a temporary solution. Glad to seeyou can admit when you are wrong mv. Takes a real man to do that.

100% Alvarez was never anything more than a stop gap until the tigers younger starting pitching prospects can develop. Not having a 1st round pick for all those years and trading away guys depleted the Tigers of anything resembling a young starting pitcher in the minors that was mlb ready... They have a few guys a year or two away at this point now with the last two drafts loaded with starting pitching picks... A few have some potential...

This is one of the reasons why I believe trading Max is so important after this season.. the Tigers could reload with a few young mlb ready starters that would come back in trade.. and allow them to not have to lose draft picks for a while on free agents to plug holes and rebuild the pipeline... The trade for Iglesias takes a lot of pressure off DD this offseason... as he will most likely bring Infante back at 2nd on a 2 or 3 yr deal at a reasonable price... and can replace Max by trading for a few younger starters.. mlb ready or not.. and use Smyly in the rotation if needed. No way is Castellanos not up at some point next year.. so they are not going to go out and get an outfielder.. unless they trade Castellanos for one... Past that.. there are no holes that can't be filled from with in.. including bullpen... I have never been a fan of paying to much for bullpen guys... all they really are in reality is failed starters... and there are lots of them around... successful teams with good bullpens get creative to find their guys.. one reason the Royals have a good pen normally is because they are loaded with failed starting prospects... think about that one for a second.

I think many people in this day in age forget about Ty Cobb.. that dude was hands down the best hitter for average ever in my opinion. Not much power.. but seriously.. what he did.. all while winning lots of games.. was crazy... Glad he was a tiger and is apart of our history.

I think the .367 career average is the thing even more unbelievable... that is better than what most people will ever hit on a two week hot streak... let alone a complete career.

"Stole home 50 times" (as a Tiger) 54 total.

One player broke 30: Max Carey (33)

There's no denying Cobb's extraordinary career. The guy was insanely good.

He got himself one homerun title too.

Don Kelly was given the choice to start for the Tigers or Broncos tonite and damn it! Don chose the Tigers.......

WMU had a real chance with Don Kelly behind center tonite.

Theres a manufactured run by Iggy by legging out the single into a double, also looked like he tweaked something rounding third base. Hope it's just minor.

That little gift from Bourne gets Victor to .299, and the Tigers to a 4-1 lead. An the Infians want nothing to do with DK. (Or they want to set up a double play situation...)
