Is Kennedy next? Will there be a return to producing new entertainment? Or is this just a bump in the road for Disney? What is the Hoop's opinion?

I thought Gundam's take was interesting... of course his take is always interesting. if not funny.

"Disney Picks Bob Chapek as Next CEO"

For people who only read headlines: Bob Iger was NOT fired, and this move has been long expected.

Iger has been extremely successful as Disney's CEO -- Disney has grown enormously under his watch -- and he's been planning on stepping down as CEO for literally years and has finally done so.

Iger remains with Disney, moving to the Board overseeing Bob Chapek, who is Iger's handpicked successor.

Well, He has pushed back several times on his retirement which is why this announcement came as a bit of a surprise. Yes, anyone who has followed Disney knows he would pave the way for Chapek. Again it was a little surprising as to the sudden announcement.

Also, He is, according to Disney & Iger, gone at the end of 2021. Also, no one has said he has not been successful. lol.

Mostly a lot of the surprise is around the sudden announcement, and also the impact on the brand and various IP's of Disney like star Wars.

Personally I don’t think he wanted to deal with the steaming wars that are coming, his box office lineup is light next year and the coronavirus is going to cut into the theme parks and cruise line big time.

He is going out on top and letting the next group decide how to navigate the next phase which honestly is going to be much tougher.

Don’t blame him and he has earned the right to call his own shot.

Coronavirus is wreaking havoc on Disney's finances.
