So just hypothetically speaking...

If the Niners signed Elvis Dumervil to a 2-year contract (not likely, but I didn't think Avril would sign for 2 years either) for 17 million, that's an 8.5 cap hit this year. If they cut Haralson & Rogers, that would clear up about 5-6 of that.

That would more than offset the Avril signing in Seattle. The problem would be getting Nnamdi under the cap, but they could still do it. The Niners need to go all-out the next 2 years while they still have Kaep on the cheap and hope they hit on some draft pickd to replace the older guys who come along.

Well, he's not exactly Aldon Smith, but he's a good pass-rusher. He doens't worry me in and of himself, but the combination of Clemons, Bruce Irvin and Avril is a pretty good rotation of pass-rushers.

Not surprised at all, every time someone would say OMG Aldon can't do shit without Justin I kept saying that Aldon was on the injury report for a reason and I wouldn't be surprised if he had some type of surgery after the season.

I hope this news calms people down who think that Aldon is going to vanish once Justin Smith leaves/retires.
