ok, so which players have left, or were cut so far?

1. Alex Smith
2. Sopoaga
3. Walker
4. RJF
5. Akers
6. Moss

so we'll draft at least five players, accounting for Boldin.

I don't think trades count in Comp picks. Not sure though.

Goldson, Soap, Walker, RJF, and Moss would be the only ones that count towards comp picks. RJF isn't a goner just yet.

I bet we are done at WR until next years mid rounds.. I think they really like MM and want AJ to take the time to properly develop

I think Deep was really just referring to what players we have lost by any means and thus how many bodies we will be replacing this year.

yes, thats what i meant. cause we'll have 15 draft picks minus one, assuming three comps. so was just wondering how many we'd likely use next month?

i'd think minimum of five (5) to replace guys who're no longer here, plus the late comps?

he has officially been cut

REALLY??? Sweet!

Thanks X.

Let's look at this scenario:

1. DHB was SUPER raw coming out of college; he needed a few years to learn how to play anyway.
2. DHB played with TERRIBLE coaches, schemes & QBs.
3. DHB is a big WR with long arms & a 38.5 vertical.
4. DHB is 26 years old.
5. Harbaugh & staff have done very well with guys who have great athletic ability and were high draft picks in college (Alex, Rogers, Whitner, A. Davis, Iupati, Aldon). Taylor Mays notwithstanding. Vernon too, but that's not exactly turning water to wine.
6. DHB is one of the 5 or 6 fastest players in the NFL, and he's 216 pounds.
7. DHB would finally be in a good offense in SF where there are other legitimate receiving threats.
8. Crabtree is only under contract for 2 more years.
9. Justin Hunter & Keenan Allen will be gone by 31.
10. This is a no-brainer.

Random question: has DHB ever been used to return kickoffs? If no, why the crap not?

Speaking of ex-Raider high draft picks who were cut...

I just noticed the Raiders cut Michael Huff. There's another option at FS. Sure as crap beats signing Charles Woodson.

Cool, thanks.

Hopefully it does, it'll be nice to have that chapter closed and to finally find out what the 49ers got for him.

Speak for yourself! Just kidding. I am happy to know the deal was what they said it was and not some switcheroo or us giving some, too.

Listening to Cleveland sports radio and they said that they expect Phil Taylor to be traded. Yes or no? They think they can get a 2nd for him.

I'd take a flyer on DHB as well... I don't see us having that speed deep threat on the current wr corps yet...

like to have him or someone with that caliber/capability... we'll work on the hands but can't teach speed.

Didn't know where else to post this.

Scott Pioli divulged on NFL Network that he (they) had Aldon Smith ranked 3rd overall on their draft board back in 2011. Lots of speculation as to who the top 2 ranked players were. Von Miller and Marcel Dareus or Von Miller and Patrick Peterson or Von Miller and maybe A.J. Green would be my guesses knowing Pioli. I'm guessing the first one, though (Miller/Dareus). I kind of doubt he had J.J. Watt that high.

Maiocco brought up a good point. We like to sign players that are cut since they don't affect us receiving comp picks for our free agents signing elsewhere. If we sign other teams free agents that weren't cut then that plays a role on how many comp picks we get. So signing a guy like Woodson or DHB wouldn't be a part of the comp pick formula.

DHB is alot of fun to think about but I would think he can get a whole lot more playing time and more/better money elsewhere pretty easily.....I would think? Just so he doesn't end up in NE to replace Lloyd.

I read that as well and thought it was rather shrewd - If I had to choose which of those two players to take advantage of the compensatory pick rule I would rather have DHB.
