Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
The $7.5M is base salary that would count against the cap for the team acquiring him. We'd have the $1M bonus counting against our cap if we traded him after April 1st. If we trade him before that date the other team is on the hook for $8.5M total.

What Ray said. At least I think that's what would happen with the bonus.

:agree:

49ers Blog and Q&A: Combine Day 1: What lies ahead for 49ers' free agents?

* Both of the team's nose tackles, Isaac Sopoaga and Ricky Jean Francois, are pending free agents. Jean Francois, who is five years younger, is more likely to hit the open market and sign elsewhere. Look for the team to strike a reasonable deal with Sopoaga, whose play improved at the end of the season.

---------------

* Look for the 49ers to sign restricted free agent cornerback Tramaine Brock at the lowest tender level, $1.323 million. Brock went undrafted in 2010. That means the 49ers would not be compensated with a draft pick if he signed elsewhere. However, they would get a chance to match the deal (and could get a compensatory draft pick next year). It also means that Brock will be an unrestricted free agent in 2014.

Can't speak alot on the growth of Brock recently and how he fits in with the team and coaches but I wouldn't mind if Brock went elsewhere in the offseason. There's alot of names (FAs and draftable players) out there I'd probably rather have than him without ever having the chance to speak to any of the coaches about him.

2 words:

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Sign him.

Long term.

Cut Rogers.

I guess.

That was.

More than.

Two words.

That Kolb trade helped us in two ways. DRC was out of Arizona and you know the other (at least the injuries to Kolb).

Former 49ers' RB Easley Dies

This is the funniest thing I have seen lately but I honestly have a hard time believing it.

Tom Pelissero of ESPN Twin Cities "heard" at the Combine that free agent Greg Jennings is seeking $14 million a year.
$14 million annually would make Jennings the NFL's third highest paid wide receiver behind Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. No one is going to pay that much for an injury-prone wideout entering his age-30 season. Per Pelissero, there is a "popular theory" among NFL front offices that wide receivers will "sit on the market" like inside linebackers did last year. In other words, they may price themselves out of the initial wave of free agency.

Yeah okay Greg!!! Be honest with yourself bro! Do you really believe that you deserve to be the 3rd highest WR in the league? You must be related to Titus Young because I must admit, your ego is way up there!

George Wilson - DB - Titans

Titans agreed to terms with SS George Wilson.
Wilson's signing comes 11 days after he was released by the Bills. The eight-year veteran also visited the Lions, but was otherwise greeted by a soft market. Wilson's best days are behind him, but he remained an above-average run stopper in 2012, and held his own in coverage. His signing likely signals the end of Tennessee's Jordan Babineaux experiment.

Matt Barrows:

Does Alex Smith want to be traded to specific teams? "No," said Jim Harbaugh. "... he wants to play. And you can totally understand it."

More Harbaugh: He said he didn't think Mario Manningham (ACL) would be ready for the start of training camp.
