I do seem to recall a fluky WS win against a very good NL team back in 2003. Other than that, the Angel's history is mostly about Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew (post-Twins), and the wife-swapping pitchers in the early 70's.
Trust me, it was 2002. I was, unfortunately, there.

And weren't the wife-swapping pitchers with the Yankees?

You are skipping some recent players bigger than those guys: Trout and of course Ohtani

He might take a one year deal to prove he has healed and to be with his buddy. Then see where we are at the end of the year with all of our infielders. If he rejects a year one offer then move on.

Braves sign Profar 3/42.

Designate Connor Gillispie (NOT LITERALLY CONOR GILLASPIE) to make room.

I think this is an overpay. Dude had a career year but I don't think he's anything better than league average. Yaz is better and many here are not happy with him at 1/9.25.

Giants listed as 'likely' landing ex-Padres Ha-Seong Kim.

This is like the 4th article I read in the last week attaching the Giants to Kim. I guess we could be like the dodgers and over stock our needs.

He has been linked to us for years and we have talked about him extensively here on this board.

That would be a completely unnecessary signing. I hope the Giants move on from thinking about it.

I would like the signing. He would offer depth up the middle.

But whatever the Giants do with him will tell us what they link about Schmitt. If he is brought on board, Schmitt is basically done. If he isn’t brought on board, the team may still like Schmitt.

And I want to see Schmitt get one more shot (maybe Wisely as well). Kim isn't going to make this team markedly better. Might as well go with who is on the farm and see what you got. Schmitt has slowly improved the past couple of seasons (with limited looks). Maybe he finally breaks out enough to at least be a solid utility guy. I do wonder how his defense compares to Kim's. If his bat continues to improve, he may be just as good as Kim.

He is another guy who came up with HUGE defensive buzz that I just haven’t seen when I watch him. I don’t know if that is “media” blowing smoke out their ass or if it is some kind of problem with our minor leagues instructors.

Matos was supposed to be a +++ defensive OFer, and just isn’t. He is struggling just to not be a liability.
