I mean…

what other teams are making huge moves so far?
It seems other teams are having discussions with the top players; Soto, Snell…etc

Maybe the Giants are lying low until the dust settles so they can grab the leftovers.

Juan Soto is seeking a 12-14 year deal for $45 million per season with opt outs after the third and fourth seasons (reporte de @Marino_Pepen en espanol).

14/630. Should the Giants make the offer?

No

The Giants don't have a core team already. Adding a HUGE contract to a team that isn’t close is a bad way to do business. If we were on the verge, I would be much more willing to make the jump.

I think that's exactly right. Unless it's for an ace.

Also:
The Giants and right-hander Austin Warren agreed to terms on a one-year deal, reports Justice de los Santos of the San Jose Mercury News. He missed most of the season recovering from Tommy John surgery but returned late with 10 2/3 innings of two-run ball out of the bullpen.

I wonder if the Giants pushed the narrative of trade or nontender of Yaz to increase their leverage in negotiating a lower salary and avoid arbitration? I know, it is very speculative.

It is a business. It is a negotiation.

It isn’t personal, Sonny. It is business.

Hays was non tendered by the Philth. He could be a decent add to the OF mix

As a late-off-season fill, maybe. He kinda looks like Yaz, but restricted to LF, and not as proficient with glove, either way.

he was quite good as recently as ‘23, but I don’t think we should be kicking tires on 3rd OFers.

Looks like Yaz signed for one year 9.25 million. And we signed Wade Warren Doval and Tyler Rogers to one year deals too if I’m reading this right

All have been tendered contracts but only Yaz and Warren signed. Currently, Wade, Doval and Rogers are set to go through the arbitration process.

He can play all 3 OF spots...he wouldn't be restricted to LF. Dude straight RAKES LHP.

Catcher Max Stassi has agreed to a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants, per sources. Stassi underwent hip surgery in June. Injuries and a personal matter limited him to just five rehab games the last two seasons. Posted a 2.9 fWAR in 87 games in 2021.

It’s a no-risk deal and Max Stassi is local to Northern California. Playing in Sacramento would him to be close to his hometown of Yuba City.
